Joe Lewis is very wealthy but isn't going to put his hand in his pocket to bankroll transfers with a view to winning trophies and attracting lots of glory supporters. I still think he's working towards selling the club once the new stadium has become established as an income producing asset.I see it more in terms of probability. We are unlikely to be able to build a better squad than Man City or Man Utd in the long run and it is hard enough to stay on terms with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. So the best we can hope for is to have a say one in eight chance of being champions. If that's true we might win it once in the next 8 years. A lot depends on whether the extra income from the new stadium can actually be used to strengthen the squad. Signing two players for more than 50m each is a bit of a lottery. If we can get Salah and Pogba type quality then we will stay in with a chance. If we get Jorginho and Morata equivalents we will likely drop back out of the top four.
