As many turkeys in one nation as any other. No connection with the discussion we're having though. Bit of a deflection, that.

It’s actually not particularly true either.

Reading reddit, a lot of Europeans are saying that Iran actually united the EU countries more strongly now.

The UK **** show has given younger people a reason to look into it, and realise all the benefits it provides them.

(Obviously this is a ridiculously small sample size, so will have to see how it plays out in real life.)

I'm implying there are other nations that are not happy being in the EU. Some haven't the stomach for doing what we are attempting though as they freely admit.
Greece are not doing so well nor are the Italians......... Trust me there is more unrest than is generally realised. Hence why Imps is partially right about the implosion in a few decades. Why do you think they are making it so difficult.......if the EU made it easy you would be surprised at those that would leave. I don't expect you to believe me....as is your prerogative of course. Just as you have a different view so do I...........

Over ruling our top supreme court time and time again.......Dictating who we can cannot allow to enter the country for another. (Nothing to do with race or creed) either

All 11 or any more defectors should offer themselves in a by-election. They were all financed and fully supported by their local political parties, people giving up their time and money to provide critical ground level support. These MP’s will continue to draw the benefit of their current salary yet prefer to deny their supporters any say in the matter. If you disagree to the extent that you cannot continue to support the people that put you into the exalted position you’re now in, seems to me to be an honourable choice but that requires an honourable and full resignation from your position.

If Boris Johnson and Rees-Mogg were to leave the country and not allowed back in (a la Begum), I think we could all settle our differences and rejoice.

And these guys have been subjected to bullying from their respective parties. So the Tories and Labour should deal with that issue. Besides, why should they offer themselves for re-election as this moment. I hope many more defect as well as this would be good for British politics, instead of the same old, same old garbage. Besides it is good to see some MPs who think for themselves rather than follow the narrowness of party dictat. We need some big names to join the movement such as Philip Hammond, Hilary Benn, Nicky Morgan,

It would have been a good one if they’d still been on the slope :)

Rees Mogg thinks everything will turn out just fine. It might take up to 50 years, but hey, I’m sure the mega rich will be able to cope with 50 years of struggle.

They no longer want to be in the Party which got them elected in the first place, so if they continue without offering to resign and ‘represent’ their constituents, they are no longer representing their original manifesto etc. I’m not saying that they are wrong to resign from their parties, they have taken, as I said, an honourable course of action, as is their perfect right to do, but their voters did not elect them on the basis on which they now wish to continue.

The problem is, by resigning, they hand even more power to the DUP/ERG/Socialists.

I think they are brave, and putting the countries needs before party politics. The only people doing so.

It would be ironic if a few more Tory MPs follow suit, causing May to trigger a general election, seeing most/all of these independents unseated.

I saw a story about the reason why by-elections are not triggered by this type of thing.
The story is that an MP changing allegiance many years ago argued that the electorate put a cross against his name, not the name of the party, therefore they were voting for him and not the party he represented.
    His argument was upheld.
Can’t recall where I read this but if it is true, maybe the voting forms need to be changed to just list political parties, so when this happens again, they just replace the MPs that change allegiance for a substitute from the party that won the seat.

I think you maybe right and it’s a view I’ve heard before. But the way I see it is, if my main sponsor or employer is following a path I can no longer support, if I cannot change their direction then I have to look elsewhere. I’m not in anyway complaining about what they have done, I’m just saying that if they believe they are on the’right’ path then test out the views of those who put you there in the first place. After all most of them want a second referendum, so see if a local version works for them.

The problem with that is not everyone votes for the party. Some vote for the person.
