Of course we are going all out to win the CL and PL. That doesn't mean we will. We are behind both City and Liverpool and play them both away. That makes us at best a 5-1 shot. It's even more long odds in the CL as there are even better teams still in it. 10-1 at the very best. That means we will not win either three quarters of the time even if still in both this late on. Since we've only been good enough to challenge in the last three seasons it's really not surprising we've not won anything yet.
I’ve seen enough ‘new manager effect’ runs of wins over the years from other teams to know that Ole didn’t earn the job just yet, and at the same time I’ve seen plenty good managers lose games to know that he shouldn’t be discounted for losing against PSG. We have to see at the end of the season, not only where he finishes but also what his plans are and then make a decision. DOF is much more important than Ole or Poch atm, we don’t seem to be making any progress there, so next season we may end up chasing the pack again as a result of Woodward dithering. I don’t normally sit on the fence.
The lack of belief is what is holding you back imo, **** the odds or if there are better teams than you. We get called deluded but if we were in your position right now we'd be full of **** and calling ourselves the ones to beat and fearing no team and I include Barca and Real and Bayern in that, **** em they can be beaten on the day. Take the shackles off and go for it FFS I find Spurs a frustrating team and the club attitude filters down to the fans. Dream FFS it might happen.
United fans never ‘turned’ on Moyes/LVG/Jose inside the stadium, Jose got the support of the Stretford End which is a kiss of life for any manager, after several big defeats. The ****wits on twitter and Facebook won’t make any difference, there’s not a chance in hell Old Trafford would ever turn on OGS.
The other angle is that he might think, 'I've been here 5 years, given it everything and improved the club, but still not won any trophies'. So if an offer from Man Utd, Real or PSG came in, he might feel justified in leaving, knowing you're in better shape than when he arrived. I personally think he'll be at Spurs for another couple of seasons, but if Utd did come in for him in the summer, who knows ?
Mate we've won as many games as you have in the league and just trounced Dortmund last night who everyone was jizzing over before a ball has been kicked. Just because we don't get T shirts printed etc doesn't mean we're not up for it. We have been here for the last 3/4 seasons...mixing it at the top. You think saying we are going to batter everyone would have got us much more? We got done by a **** ref against your team. Son was hacked...that would make it 2-2...you'd have 2 points less and we would have 1 point more...that leaves a 1 point gap. All the singing and dancing doesn't make much difference. The nature of our last 5 games should show most that we are well drilled and focused. Let everyone fawn over Pool...we will carry on taking each game at a time.
I like Poch’s attitude and how he conducts himself with the media. Make no mistake, the man is ambitious wants to win things. You can see that from the “never say die” attitude of the players. He’s too clever to start bragging to the media about what might or might not happen in the future, and heap unnecessary pressure on his players. What we have at Spurs is very special.
You lack balls as a man mate...you hide and creep and crawl your way through bullshit when your team lose
There’s still a lot more improvement to be made though, the fans can see that and I think he does as well, so I get the impression he wants to (try and) see that through with the end goal being a trophy of some form. Can’t be certain of course but I just don’t think he’d leave for Utd. Plus, if he’s looking to leave for more or less instant trophy success, PSG and Real are far better options at the moment.
I’m kicking back later with a few beers, Bruv, and watching how our inferior and inbred cousins, Chavs and Gunners, get on. I do so hope for the sakes of certain posters on this board that neither fcuk up, tonight. I think we all know what will happen.
They have to play both Liverpool and City, so as far as I can see they’re in the title race. They have to take this chance if there’s any chance that Poch walks in the summer.
Yeah I tend to agree with that. I think he'll want to at least win something before he goes, otherwise his tenure at Spurs will be recorded as a failure tbh. Just another manager in your long list that have come and gone, but not delivered. I'm not sure about the Utd job. If they do come in for him and make a concrete offer, I think he'll be tempted, because he would be backed with cash there and could reasonably consider that he could build an empire there. But like you say, I think he'll want to try and win something with Spurs first.
