It is but it’s very hard to protect girls from having this barbaric practice done as many are taken abroad to have it done. I assume this bill was gonna extend this protection. Only last week we had the first conviction in this country for someone carrying out FGM.....hopefully this opens the doors for many more

I believe it would allow courts to pass interim care orders for girls at risk of fgm ie local authorities could take the child in their care
