On your second point, I do agree that work can (and should be done) on the training ground, but all the training in the world won't make Sears the burly physical centre forward that we need.. In fact it would be a complete waste of his current skill set.
I understand that.. But we don't have the players to implement a different style of play even if we try millions of different way of setting up. You don't simply say "I want us to be more dynamic" and it suddenly happens.. Our midfield has for many years been very static and that hasn't really changed.. Of all the combinations you could put out on the pitch, none of them would be able to move the ball as quickly and efficiently as we'd like.. It's why we are where we are and Lambert (like Hurst and Mick before him) is having to make the best of what he has available to him. That means utilising Skuse and Chalobah deeper and asking the front 3 to hold the ball up in order to gain some territory
