Why are Everton/Man City playing tonight when no-one else is? They're not behind on number of games played so why?
I'm assuming it's one that needed to be rearranged due to efl cup final/FA Cup but was easier to bring it forward than put it back.
Apparently there is a 3 way discussion going on. Cardiff insured Sala for 16 million. Nantes want the initial 5 million payment to be made. Cardiff want to wait till the plane has been recovered and they want to know why the flight was allowed to go ahead after the plane took 3 attempts to take off.....though that doesn't seem to involve Nantes. The insurance company probably want to find out if someone else can be held responsible....this legal argument could go on for years.
The Premier Leagues nailed on mid table teams have started to lose their touch. Apart from Wolves, 3 wins or losses in a row could have anyone anywhere!
Dorset Police have confirmed that the body found in the wreckage of the aircraft has been formally identified as that of Emiliano Sala.
Just hearing a debate on the radio about whether Cardiff should pay the first installment of Emiliano Sala's transfer fee to Nantes which they are demanding and have gone public. I have sympathy with both club's positions but a contract was signed and he was a Cardiff player unfortunately.
I recognise the fell hand of accountants. Cardiff owe the money and will have to pay it...delays have forced Nantes into demanding it (which I'm sure they didn't want to do). Must just add to the distress of the families. The real issue will be the insurance...will they be happy to pay Cardiff when a highly valuable asset was allowed to play Russian roulette with the weather and a dodgy plane. They will certainly be perusing the small print.
Crystal Palace have appealed the extra one match ban given to Zaha...may suit them in the short term as he is available awaiting result of appeal, but surely best to just serve the extra match ban and move on. Doesn't seem excessive for directing sarcasm at the ref....I suppose they are claiming that the one match ban served because of the original red card is sufficient.
He got sent off for the sarcastic clapping directed at the ref, but then continued to do it after being shown the red and took his time to go off continuing to sarcastically clap. That’ll be why he’s got the extra ban. If as I would expect, the appeal fails doesn’t it increase the ban by another game? Doesn’t seem worth it to me.
Is the extra game against someone we need to beat, and does the appeal mean he gets to play against Fulham? I’ll make my moral judgement based upon these facts
