Never understood the fuss about this chap.
Little Richard Elvis Jerry Lee Chuck yeah
Bill Haley and Buddy Holly no
I won't bother listing all the major rock stars who admired and were influenced by Buddy Holly. But what do the likes of the Beatles know compared to City Man?
The middle aged man with a kiss curl Bill Haley. ARF!
Try reading the post again.
I saw that prog the other night where various rock legends were singing BH's praises
But still don't get it.
(BTW, Lennon married Yoko Ono, so what does he know?)
I don't get why anyone likes a lot of the stuff that you do, but each to their own. Let's see if people are still listening to it in 60 years.
Most of the stuff you post on FNMT.

I have to agree with you. I could only afford to buy his records from Fanthorpes in the arcade, which were from a juke box, you had to have a centre piece to put in to be able to play them on your Dansette.Remember that day as if it was yesterday. Still my favourite musician ever.

Isn’t FNMT to do with the topic rather than poster’s favourites? Most of the stuff you post on FNMT.

Ritchie Valens and Jiles Perry "J. P." Richardson Jr (The Big Bopper) also died in the plane crash along with the pilot Roger Peterson.

Ritchie Valens debut album released in 1959 is a good one.
Buddy Holly was unique at the time because he was such a proliiic writer, he wrote or co-wrote most of his own hits. Great live performer and surprisingly versatile singer (don't be fooled by some of his saccharine sweet single releases but contrast his rocking versions of Ready Teddy and Blue Suede Shoes with solo efforts like Reminiscin' ) I was, of course, a member of the Buddy Holly Appreciation Society.Never understood the fuss about this chap.
