This is where your delusion is monumental. Whilst I agree I don’t think he’d go to Chelsea i see no reason why he wouldn’t pack his bags forthwith if offered the United job.
In fairness you can barely remember where you were yesterday.
It’s probably a reason too often used but he might have a missus nagging at him to stay in London and kids settled in school. Mourinho taking the job but refusing to even rent a flat was a bit of a two fingers up to the club IMO.

We often forget that both players and managers have families. Families who have possibly already been through the trauma of uprooting from one country to another, learning a new language, culture etc. For many of them they get settled, make friends, the kids have settled at their new school and then all of a sudden hubby comes home and asks them how they’d feel about uprooting themselves again.
It would be no great surprise to learn that many moves don’t happen for family reasons.
I’m just hypothesising. For all I know he could be single and childless. Maybe he’s obsessed with Oasis.
