I don't think anyone who wants to remain would deny that if totally honest with themselves. I want to stay in because it's better for myself and my family. I'm happy being part of the EU. Laws that they have inflicted on us like, compensation claims for delayed flights have benefited me only last year. Some others about food labelling are also quite useful.
That's honest, Bob, and I respect your opinion based on your, and your family's, interests. I think more Remain supporters that are arguing for ruling out a no-deal should admit they are doing it to try to stop Brexit, instead of pretending that if no deal is off the table, the EU will give us a decent Brexit deal out of the goodness of their hearts.
Unfortunately honesty is a major factor lacking in British politics and there lies part of the problem we are facing.
When you have a car that you never wanted in the first place and you want to change it, then that is up to you. You shouldn't have people keep frightening you to keep it. as for breaking down? who is to say that the car you have isn't going to fall to bits?
Whether you're remain or leave, a deal is not what anyone voted for as nobody knew what the deal was. If I try put myself in the mindset of a leave voter........Hang on.......arghhh.......ouch......then with the potential of a deal being bounced about (that I didn't vote leave for) I would welcome another vote on the matter to put it to bloody bed.
There was hyperbole from both sides during the referendum campaign. And fake news is commonplace now, particularly on the internet, although I think the public are more questioning, not to say cynical, than they were
And we all accept this and just carry on. We were lied to by the people we pay and elect to run the country for us. It is disgraceful, disgusting and divisive. Yet we just let them get away with it and argue amongst ourselves. You know what, DT makes some valid points aswell as some comical ones. We are sheep, just of different colours.
It has always been thus. Look at Blair over Iraq and the dodgy dossiers. The politicians just have to battle it out in hand to hand combat, while we look on and form opinions with sceptical eyes
That is why we shouldn't let them get away with not delivering what the majority voted for. (and before I hear the crap about not everyone voted. They had a choice. If people didn't vote then they shouldn't moan about my vote or others). I don't think there has been a time when MP's have done a stunt like this before. As Goldie says it's all about stopping Brexit. Maybe a GE could be the way to go and the Tories can deselect Grieve, Mad Anna and the rest of the remoaners and bring in some strong MP's?
Ricky GervaisVerified account@rickygervais 5h5 hours ago I'm an old fashioned liberal lefty, champagne socialist type of guy. A pro-equality, opportunity-for-all, welfare state snowflake. But, if I ever defend freedom of speech on here, I'm suddenly an alt right nazi. How did that happen? please log in to view this image
Will be interesting with Bercow who is desperate to be a Lord. Can you imagine if he causes problems for Brexit. I doubt he will be Lord Bercow.
That was only from a few reporters. Now I listened to someone explaining this 'prorogation' crap they were talking about getting the Queen involved which I doubt would happen but her Majesty is a leaver so why not.
