I personally hope we are still part of it. How anyone can support May or a government on a deal is beyond me and quite hypocritical to be honest. Leavers voted to leave full stop. Remainers voted to remain full stop. Why strike a deal that would make us weaker than just staying in? I totally understand the frustrations of the leave voter. A deal shouldn't have ever been on the table, or if it had to be then it surely should have been mentioned on the voting card.

In all fairness to the French, they have caused chaos with their yellow vest movement over what they believe to be wrong and injustices. We have a couple of nuisance people carrying placards outside parliment. I'm still wondering when it will really kick off and people start writing letters to their local newspapers. Oooh scary

I'm no fan of Abbott and didn't watch QT, but it certainly seems that she was treated unfairly. She was interrupted twice as many times as the Tory panelist, presenter Fiona Bruce joked about her in the warm-up segment, and Bruce also mistakenly 'corrected' her over opinion polling, which the BBC have admitted. There have even been suggestions that her mic was set at a lower level than the other panelists and that the audience were encouraged to give her a hard time.

If the BBC had treated the Tory representative in such a way, you'd have been screaming blue murder, Goldie.

Did you see the warm up segment, Strolls? I missed the beginning of the show but the BBC doesn't usually show it.

Abbott is softly spoken, and nothing re the microphone has been established. I agree that if there is any suggestion that someone tampered with the volume, it should be fully investigated.

She was interrupted because, in keeping with Labour policy on Brexit, every time she was asked what the policy was, she started criticising the Tories. She had plenty of air time and used it extremely poorly imo. In addition, the person who damaged her was not Bruce but Oakshott.

I watched the programme and there seemed nothing out of the ordinary. It was a hostile audience towards Abbott but so what. She is pretty damn useless and generally doesn't need anyone's assistance in damaging herself. As for any pre air jokes then I'm sure they will be investigated.....Not! As for Oakshott, she would be best off hooking up with Tommy Robinson.

Abbott is so bad, I feel sorry for Labour supporters. Hard to rally behind her banner.

On Brexit matters, it does seem to me that if the backstop was amended to include an end date, May's deal might well go through and we can move on. The EU doesn't feel under any pressure at this stage. They are standing back and hoping rebel MP's and civil servants will block Brexit.

It looks that way. Don't suppose there are many good politicians on either side. She seems to win her constituency over so the opposition must be really bad.

WTF <yikes>! You didn't see it but it 'certainly seems'.
Abbott was hopeless. It had nothing to do with Bruce or the audience. In fact she was the rude to Isobel Oakeshott :emoticon-0152-heart. at the start when Isobel tried to make a point.
Abbott is a joke. How anyone can defend her is beyond the realms of sanity.

No I didn't see it, so I can't defend her performance, nor would I be likely to because I think she's useless and have said so many times on here. What I was drawing attention to was the reported unfair treatment of her. The BBC, whilst stopping short of apologising, have admitted that Bruce was wrong to have contradicted Abbott by insisting that Labour was 6 points behind in the polls, when she had actually been correct in saying that it was more like level pegging on an average of all polls.

Nothing wrong with the audience being hostile towards her, unless they had previously been encouraged to be so, as has been reported. As you say, she doesn't need any help in coming over as an idiot.

For years Tory reps have been treated to hostile allegedly balanced audiences, now Abbott's incompetence is shown up she gets stick and it's all bias, race etc. She shadows one of the 4 great offices of state but is totally out of her depth, but thanks to lover boy she's bombproof. Another example of why Labour isn't 20+ points ahead in the polls. Having said that the Tories are hopeless as well, both parties are not fit to govern imo...

Totally agree. The audience was mixed and her talking rubbish was the reason they started cheering and mocking her.

If you remember we had the same argument about the polls that day or before. I agreed with Bruce in that the polls were saying Labour were 6 points behind. Abbott was probably quoting from the 'Corbyn Chronicle'. Saying that, if it comes to Figures I would never trust Abbott anyway.
I just think it's unfair that because Abbott again exposed herself as an idiot that she needs to blame Bruce/race/audience or whatever excuses she can come up with. It amazes me how 42K people voted for Abbott giving her 75% of the votes in her constituency. <yikes> That tells its own story.

As I pointed out to you and Goldie at the time, one poll showed Labour 6 points behind, whilst others showed Labour ahead. Abbott said that overall they were probably level pegging, which was fair comment and Bruce should have understood that and not contradicted her. One poll is not representative.

    Here's the BBC statement.....

We've reviewed what was said re polling on @bbcquestiontime. A YouGov poll published on the day of the programme suggested a lead for the Conservatives. Diane Abbott was also right that some other polls suggested Labour either as ahead or tied, & we should have made that clear.

Gholam Mustafa Erabi played a central role in the rise in crossings, the court was told
A British man was among three people-smugglers jailed in France yesterday for towing migrants to the middle of the Channel in inflatable dinghies and leaving them to row to the UK.
The case was the first of its kind in France since the number of migrants attempting to cross the Channel by boat began to rise sharply in October.
Gholam Mustafa Erabi, 31, from Glasgow, who was given British citizenship in 2007 after arriving from Afghanistan, was sentenced to two years in prison after being convicted of belonging to a network that charged migrants thousands of euros each to reach Britain by sea.
Najeebullah Rashidi, 30, an Afghan known as “the king of the Jungle” for his role in Calais’ migrant camp,

he loved his new country so much he wanted all his mates to live here
the ones that could afford his fees anyway
