It depends on the books of course , but 3 does seem excessive.

Fiction all the way for me and I'd dispute that you don't learn anything as any type of reading expands your vocabulary and concentration levels.
 
I actually read quite a lot of text... I’m not talking about on here, for work I have to do a lot of reading and it won’t be long until I’m doing another course for work either so that’ll no doubt come with a mountain of text.

What I don’t do is read for fun. I’d rather listen to music on a beach and explore music rather than read a book teaching us all what the best way to live is... or some crime rape thriller where a hero female NYPD saves the day cos she found a red fingernail in an ashtray 300 miles away, ffs.

I don't like any of that those type of books, I suppose I'm mainly into the classic American authors a lot of what they do is autobiographical I suppose but dressed as fiction.

Yeah I learn alot from reading the back of the Toilet Duck bottle whilst sat on the toilet so I kinda get what you mean.

Concentration levels depend on interest for me. If you're interested you're going to concentrate.

Nothing wrong with a bit of escapism but I also like stuff that gives an insight into humanity and history. Harry Potter doesn’t do that. The Book Thief does.

I struggle to stick with any fiction these days. Think being forced to read The Hobbit at school (absolute ****e) put me off. Non-fiction I can read all day.

I haven’t read The Book Theif, sounds ****. The Book Thief is superb. The film was massively disappointing.
 
I don't read as much as I did.

I have an author who's books are brilliant, Don Winslow, who is my go to. Waiting for his latest Mexican Cartel epic to come out but can wait for paper back, I'm not that obsessed I have to read hard back.

I read biographies in between, sports ones mainly but I've currently got Johnny Marr's at me bedside, and a magazine here and there.

Reading is definitely good for you but it's also time consuming so I see both sides of this.
 
Agree with Tel as well in that I spend the majority of my day at a monitor so reading in the evening can then be a chore.

Give me eyes a break.
