I used to post on the Sunderland board a bit and it could get quite lively. Just remember Blunham being an exceptional peace keeper who could get on with everyone and was instrumental in it being one of the best boards on here.

Shocking news and condolences to those of you who clearly knew him well - it's obvious he was one of life's good guys.
Yes mate, although i don't post on there now, It's a very sad day for them....

Just seen this thread.

I know Burly only from his posting on this board over the past couple of seasons. I always enjoyed the banter with him. He was never pernicious or aggressive, and I always felt he "got" my humour.

This board will be a sadder place without his charm and warmth.

My sincere condolences to the family he leaves behind .

Ah **** man <cry>

So sad to read this. Burley was a absolute Gent on here and I'm certain that he was in real life too. He always had a good word to say about people on here and he took his illness on with such courage, humility and humour. That is the mark of a remarkable man.

God bless you Burley

this is how 100% i will remember him

I'm so ****ing gutted to hear this news mate. I've literally walked in the door 10 mins ago, seen that Arsenal beat Chelsea and then like a sunk like a stone reading that Burley has passed away.

This place is a ****ing ****ter 90% of the time and Burley always managed to find the good in everybody. The mark of a true Gent.

Yeah me too, was inspirational at a time when many people would break. I'm glad he got to spend Christmas with his family too.

I can only imagine what it must have been like for him going through that illness. I have no idea how I would deal with that, but I'm pretty sure that I would fall to pieces at times. Which I'm sure Burley did in his private moments. But he was always so positive on here and always took it on with such grace and humility. The man is an inspiration to everybody on here in the way that he held his head high in such a gentle and dignified way.

God bless you man <rose>

And yet during this time, he found time to post on here, in his usual manor, giving nothing away.

It makes you think, just what a load of bollox it all really is.

Giant, true giant of a gent.

He was an inspiration on here the way he dealt with all the **** he must have been going through.

I hope his legacy here is to remind people to be a little bit kinder, a little bit more humble and to hold your head high through adversity.

I'm keeping his avatar, in honour....

It' makes all the other talk ****.....

Lots of great lads on here...I actually think this may bring some of us closer... (some)

And i';m all for that mate.

So very sad to hear this news. This forum has lost one of its' best, but that's nothing compared to the loss for his family and close friends.

Warm, friendly, funny, empathetic, dignified and remarkably brave. The next drink I have will be raised in silent toast to a 'friend' lost but warmly remembered.

God rest you BH <rose>
