Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley 'feared being jailed in the UAE after insulting the Dubai royal family, Islam and Kevin Keegan in bar'
  • Claims emerged in latest round of a dispute between Ashley and Tony Jimenez
  • Sued Mr Jimenez over a 2008 French golf course deal and says he is owed £3m
  • 'Disturbance' at Bahri Bar in Saudi Arabia took place in 2008, High Court heard


Mr Johnson said Mr Ashley had given instructions for £3 million to be paid into a nominated company account, but had subsequently agreed that the money should be 'retained' in relation to work Mr Jimenez had done trying to find a buyer for Newcastle United.

He said Mr Ashley also agreed to hand over another £7 million.

Mr Jimenez said he had done a lot of work on the Newcastle sale and became 'increasingly concerned' after Mr Ashley refused to meet a potential buyer, who went on to buy Manchester City.

Love to be seen as the bridemaids right now. I think we're currently the knickerless thrice-divorced STD ridden slapper who no-one recalls inviting.

As for the Saudis, if they'd bought us they would somehow have gone bust and we'd have won nothing. We are never winning anything in my life time, acceptance of that makes everything easier.

you are the nicest Newcastle supporter i have met on here, pity the majority are on the warm glow thread ****ting themselves for when they go down and meet us in the championship, and give us our usual guarantee of 6 points

We are going down, of that I'm certain. There's a chance it wont be this season but if it isn't this one it'll be next or some season soon. We're a winnet hanging on to the arse of the Premier League and quite frankly it's just not fun being in the Premier League when you know before day one you're going to be in the bottom few.

As for next season and the derbies, we'll see. There's a lot that will happen between now and then!

Nivver mind mate, when your in the championship hanging on to our shirt tails, after our guaranteed 6 points against you i hope we both go straight back up, its no fun not playing you lot every season,

Honestly if we're both in the Championship next season I suspect you'll be more midtable and we'll be play-off contenders and that we'll be in that league for 2-3 years. Unlike last time we don't have players worth decent money to sell off to then fund going back up and you guys are presumably going to have to work on a slow improvement as I don't think you have the sort of finance either. Some of the clubs in the Championship are spending serious money, we've been fortunate to not have to really fight our way out on the previous relegations.
