Because Corbyn is. Not a credible leader.

He looks a lot better than May from where I am standing Your dinner date is frankly the worst PM on record . The Conservative party has a lot more divides that no one like you even accepts

Yet they will vote later on and win all the confidence they need ... that is putting the country first is it ?

May is a selfish dilute of that other dry old **** Thatcher How anyone could ever vote Tory in its current form is beyond me . I sincerely hope that this lot split and then with or without Corbyn we can have a government that works for the people

I totally back the viewpoint of the London bubble by the way ... it’s sin city albeit the best city on the planet

It was an honour to welcome the Secretary of State of Portuguese Communities Abroad, José Luís Carneiro, to City Hall today.
I reassured him that, like all EU Londoners, the Portuguese community will always belong in London.

Sorry Goldie, does that mean you would accept May’s deal if the backstop had a limited duration? Surely whatever comes after has to have the same effect if a hard border in Ireland is to be avoided.

I can’t get my head round the Irish border thing. There is no deal which doesn’t include staying in the Customs Union, or allowing NI to stay in the Customs Union which solves it as far as I can see.

Perhaps we should just let the Northern Irish to have a referendum on it. They voted remain after all.

I'd be much more in favour of May's deal with a finite backstop, Stan. What comes after is a trade deal with comparable tariffs and standards. The EU could use an infinite backstop against us in the trade negotiations.

Decent speech by Watson, and brilliant one by Gove.

They were both much more impressive than their leaders. Gove was also excellent speaking without notes for an hour earlier this week. Shame he’s such a devious, untrustworthy ****er.

Yes I live in London but do not agree with the excessive house prices

So Corbyn snatches defeat from the jaws of victory...
He boxed himself into a corner, had to call the vote with no hope of winning it. Not a grown up politician, a street shouter with nothing beyond the slogans. They’ve just had a Labour Party political broadcast on telly when he drones on about how wonderful everything would be under him, with him droning on and on and pretty pictures. Embarrassing.

I bet those Labour MPs who put his name on the ballot for the leadership, either for a joke or to ensure ‘diversity’ of candidates, are really proud of themselves now.

He seems to think that by shouting louder, it gives what he says more force. It's not a good look. Watson's cool, calm speech was pretty decent. His mistake was not to mention his leader once, and Gove exploited this with devastating effect

Corbyn is screwed anyway. His party, which he promises to follow in a ‘democratic’ fashion, wants to stay in the EU, or have a deal which is very similar to staying in.

But he knows there is no way he can turn the UK into a 1970s socialist non paradise while we are in/close to the EU.

So membership does have some advantages mate.

He's left the Tories united and jubilant. It takes some talent to do that

United for a few hours. May can't get a deal through parliament without splitting the Tory party. She's now deigned to speak to opposition leaders, which may signal a blurring of some red lines. The No Deal loonies won't like that.

Yes, I'll add it to my small list of EU advantages, behind keeping a star spangly flag
