I think you lot ought to realise we took him young and developed him over 5 years and at the end he was far far more than a 1 in 5 player.

if mutd buy him he should he absolutely savaged and id be well happy is one out our lads jist kicks him so hard (firmino lol) that the red card received would be well worth it.
I only said if as not arsed about arguing about it. He isnt one of ours now so just moving on
Totally agree we developed him
Could not say honestly whether a 1 in 5 or what. So many variables, take Salah as an example, get the right system and everything changes
That was why i put if in :)

Very important point. The fact that he gave us some magic moments seems to have blinded many to the fact that like many gifted players he blew hot and cold much of the time.
The 25 yard curlers into the top corner erased the memories of the more frequent times the ballboys had to go out into the car park to fetch the ball back.
Great talent when on it, but nowhere near Suarez for work-rate and sheer bloody-minded determination.

I think in his last year he really became a much more consistent performer. You’re right he was a 1 in 3 or 4 player but by the end (not including his last 3/4 months where was ‘injured’) he became a 1 in 2 and was much more influential.

With how we're now setting up in a 4231 system, he'd be brilliant as the no.10

He was more of a 1 in 3 player... :emoticon-0172-mooni:emoticon-0173-middl
Yep, for his last season when playing for a move. At the same time I said that about couts I said Firmino was a 1 in 8 player, if you asked me today I would say he is a 4 in 5 minimum.Things change according to playing style and effort, Firmino never lacked effort but the set up didn't bring the best out of him, now he is back to his German days best.

So, in short, you were proved wrong about Coutinho so your attacking Firmino as a deflection? ;)

Minimum, possibly as high as 8 in 9 <ok>

Thing with Bobby is, he can be poor on the ball and still be a very important key player because no matter what his firm is, he's always great defensively.

The fact that he's great offensively too when on form is brilliant (maybe not for you :1980_boogie_down:).

His scoring figures aren't too shabby either, not one of the most prolific but he holds his own.

Easily my favourite player, we're just not the same when he's not playing.

I agree, when I judge a player it's on his contribution to the team, not his individual talent.
