Everybody with abit of buisness sense starts off with a cheeky bid to test the water. Its the same as when you buy a house you always start off with a cheeky bid about 10k less. The fact we finally have owners that have abit of common sense instead of throwing big money straight away to buy a player should be embraced in my opinion and not whinged about.

Someone bid 10k under on my place and I told them ‘**** off I ain’t selling you it’.

Issue here is he’s proven at the level, now folk know he’s available.

Yes and if we bid 1m people would know we had cash to spend (if we have).

Remember when Fergie put his cheeky 1m bid in for Cantona and Leeds stupidly said yes. Keep faith in Donald I say.

On a side note ive just bought a house for 126k that was advertised for 135k. :1980_boogie_down:.

But if you REALLY wanted that house and were worried someone would beat you to it... You'd offer the asking price. I know I would.

How do we know anybody else wants him? The only teams capable of getting him over us is teams in the Championship and i cant see loads of offers coming from there. Whos to say we bid 200k anyway? Donalds denied it and Wigan havent released anything about an unsatisfactory offer.

Its common sense to offer below the value of a player, and try and meet the club half way. I have faith in Donald, most of us are tired of moaning about our owners after the Short era. Lets not start on our new owners in only their second transfer window with us.

Haway man Tees, I’m from Cockerton.. you can buy half a street for that <laugh>:emoticon-0136-giggl

My parents live in Cockerton :) Near the cricket ground on the estate between the Brinkburn and the Brown Trout. It isn't the most affluent part of the world granted :)

The Brown Trout was my local growing up, sadly it’s not there any more ☹️
And the site where the Brinkburn now stands used to be where we had our bonfire !!!
It’s a nice little estate compared to some of Darlo :emoticon-0148-yes:

Since when is the Brown Trout gone?

Used to drink there from 2002-2008ish (only when back home so not a regular or anything) but parent moved out to France in 2010, kept house in Cockerton leased out and moving back from France this year permanently so I'll be back up in Cockerton now and again for the first time in years!

£200,000 in the echo that is chicken feed man offer them a million ross had better get his finger out or this season is going down the pan, as they cannot kill teams off.

Sad to say, it’s now a Flower Shop.
I drank in there from the age of 17 (1986) until it closed.
Brought up in Auckland Avenue, my dad still lives there now! Not sure exactly when it pulled it’s final pint... but can’t be long after you left for pastures new!

My parents live a street away on the other side of the cricket ground - the sickeningly named Blossom close. They moved there when i was at uni (2001) though and i never really 'lived' there other than 3 months or so a year of uni holidays :) There's a decent chance you could actually see one house from the other, though in fairness they aren't in the house actually overlooking the ground - otherwise I'd still be there each summer now, love a sunny day, pint in had and game of cricket in front of me.
