Too late in my humble opinion. Had the chance after they finished third in a tow horse race after getting trashed at yours last game of the season. Everybody could see that squad needed two or three marquee signings to jump to the next level but we are talking about a mediocre club where profit comes before achieving. Ship has sailed, they will always be bridesmaids.

That was possibly their best chance but they weren't the only team to blow it that year really. As for the 5-1, it said as much about us as them - a team of total mercenaries epitomised by Sissoko who when he could be bothered to try and angle for a move would tear Tottenham (and on a couple of occassions Chelsea) a new one then go to the Euros and look a totally different play to the one who'd been lolloping around our pitch for a few years. Levy really did fall hook, line and sinker for that one but it's happened to most at times.

You may prove to be correct, he's been sound so far with myself and it's only fair to take people how i find them but I'll take your comment on board.

In a genuine football question, what area or player(s) do you think Tottenham would need to make the next step?

I see our strength in keeping together the same players, just as United did under Fergie.

We’ve already proven that you don’t need to buy to improve. Every wum and his dog was on us Yids’ backs at the start of the season for spending zero on transfers, and were predicting a downfall.

That’s the level of clownish comment we have to put up with.

The only position I think we need to buy in is a creative midfielder, since the likes of Winks and Skipp are at least a decade away from realising their potential. It’s important we keep Eriksen, but I don’t think we can achieve our best with him, so if we did lose him I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over it.

Come on Tubby, don’t be a clown and show your pedigree. You’ve had pretty much a settled team for four seasons and to date it’s bought you Jack ****! Every man and his dog could see it.

You aren't really keeping that team together though. Walker has left, Alderwiereld has one foot out of the door and Eriksen looks like he could be next. I think a few others have thought, let's stick around until we get the new stadium and see if we can win anything, but this is the 5th year Poch has been there now and not even a sniff of a pot. How much longer do you expect players in their mid/late 20's to stay before they want to win trophies at clubs that offer them a better chance ?

I would definitely agree you are improving but my concern would be that clubs around you are willing to take short-cuts to improvement. Son, Kane and Eriksen are consistently excellent from what i see of you boys but Alli seems to drift in and out for me (I only catch a few of your games so can't be certain and he is still very young) and it feels like what you don't have enough of is competition for some of the first team positions others around you have to keep the pressure on.

ps. Just noticed - disagree about Eriksen. Personally I think he and Kane are your two possibly world class players. He's fantastic and selling him would send the wrong message entirely.

Trust me, I don’t want us to sell him.

Yawn.

You cannot admit that Spurs are positioning themselves to hit the big time, can you!

If I were you, I’d be more concerned about your tinpot club and it’s spiral downwards, over the next decade.

You are going to be in our shadow for a very long time.

We keep hearing this though and yet you've delivered nothing. So until you do start winning things, this is just more of the same old tosh.
In the meantime, you've already lost one player to City. Alderwiereld is practically gone and your playmaker Erkisen is looking at leaving too.

How much longer do you seriously think you can keep this squad together, if they can't win a pot ?

You and every other wum has variously predicted that Poch will go, Kane will leave, Levy has ****ed up, etc, blah blah blah...

When will you accept that we are the new United?

WTF ? <laugh> The new Utd ?

What is that **** even supposed to mean ?

If you mean Man United that is a hefty claim. If you mean West Ham United then I think you're selling yourself short. If you mean Newcastle United then you may be correct.

I apologise, I jumped in too soon. Clearly he was comparing Spurs to Newcastle Utd. Good shout HIAG.

Fair enough. I wouldn't mind seeing Tottenham win the league to be honest, they remind me a bit of us under Bobby Robson, some good English players in there playing quality attacking football. Ultimately I suspect they will win the league the same number of times though.
So will spurs hound pooch out also?
