Where is the best place to get a steak in Hull? Preferred cut is ribeye, happy to pay decent money. Thanks in advance!

There's Steak 1884 on Humber Street, though I can't tell you how good it is, as it was shut when I went.

If it doesn't have to actually be in Hull, then I think the best steak locally is at the Westwood in Beverley.

There is a place up near Driffield who raise Wagyu / Kobe beef cattle.

Probably a little far, but the best steak I've had in the UK was the ryther arms just past selby. It's definitely worth the trip. Sorry I don't know anywhere with decent steak local

Hope and Anchor at Sth Ferriby is home to the finest steaks I've ever eaten, nothing has come close - great, matured meat cooked in a fairly unique charcoal oven. The steaks are quite way from being cheap but, for a one off special occasion they're certainly worth it. Go, spoil yourself.

Edit, apologies - Sth Ferriby isn't Hull ...... oops!

Unless those above who reccomend the Woolpack have been recently, save yourself a trip.

Two of us ordered sirloin. Instead of fessing up and saying sorry only one sirloin, the one was pared into two. Won't notice? Do not give the cheating bastards any custom.

Not as good as a Wetherspoons boil-in-a-bag classic

I was just going to say the same. It’s a specialist steak pub and it’s excellent. Eaten at the Ryther Arms many times.

On the back of another nod to the Westwood I will say, yes, up until 6/8 months ago it was one of my go to places.

Sadly the last time was an utter shambles. If anybody has been in the more recent would like to hear things are back to what they were.

I've never had a steak at the Westwood but the Halibut is always good.

    Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

On the grounds of getting most votes and not being too far away I went for Westwood, closely followed by Hope and Anchor, then The Old House.

Sadly, as I write, they are all fully booked when I want to go so unless I can pick up a cancellation it'll have to wait.

    Thanks again, and UTT!

Finally made Hope and Anchor today, didn't have the steak although I was tempted walking past the chiller! What a nice place though, I'll definitely be back.
