We dont have money for the likes of james, (well we do, but noone knows where its gone).

I have a feeling we will be shopping for more gems and bargain priced players from now on forward. (in the torreira mould).

Its so frustrating - there seems to be this belief in the arsenal boardroom that we are self sustaining and as such are a 'well run club'.

Does a 'well-run club' let their valuable assets go for free?
Does a 'well-run club' watch idly by as their valuation drops more and more every season instead of investing in the one thing that could push us forward (buying world class players?)
Does a 'well-run club' let their relationship with the fans deteriorate and give answers such as 'read the papers' to fan questions?
Does a 'well-run club' have an owner who simply just doesnt give a f***?

'Well-run' my arse, we have not been 'well-run' in years.

Reports saying Dybala may be available in the summer for £90M. I would be looking to ship Ozil, Mhiki, Cech, Lichsteiner, Koscielny, along with Ramsey. I would fork that amount out for Dybala. Try for Denis Suarez. Try for Manolas, McGuire or Ake. A really good center back of some kind. A backup RB would be nice. We will have money when the Adidas deal kicks in in the summer. Any chance of a player like Dybala being available should be jumped at!

A MF 3 of Torreira, Xhaka and Suarez. A front 3 of Auba, Laca and Dybala. Would be a decent outfield makeup.

Dyabala would be an amazing signing.

    Hard to pull off though.

Personally If I was going to spend £50-70+m on a player I would go with a TOP defender. Koulibali or DeLigt possibly.
When you see the impact De Van Dijk has had at Liverpool, Hummels made at Bayern and Dortmund, Ramos at Real Madrid - If you can land a real Worldie at the back it has the biggest impact on the rest of the side.

Fair point. Us getting CL football is vital to making this type of deals a possiblity.

He looked like a Top young player a couple of years ago.

Was great in France moved to Athletico - then made the crazy decision to go to China at just 24 years old.

    Talented for sure.

Carrasco is a very good player. I still remember him, Kondogbia, Berbatov and Martial destroying us at The Emirates when we played Monaco almost 4 years ago now.

He's still 25 years old and fits in with the profile of player we want to bring to the club.

Personally, I'd welcome the move. I think he'd be an excellent wide option.

Yeah he's top quality. Not sure we'd go for him and Suarez though.

Multiple reports saying Ramsey has signed a deal with Juventus starting in the Summer.

Soo ridiculous. Having players like Sanchez, Ramsey running down their contracts. Hopefully this won't happen again as it happned FAR too often during the Gazidis era.

This is the main reason we have no money to spend this window. Liverpool and Spurs are selling on the players that 'dont quite make the grade' for a profit while we are just constantly pissing money up the wall.

At least in the Summer we will get a little cash injection from the Emirates deal renewal and the new ADIDAS deal.

We also need to cut the wage bill down dramatically.
Sell the likes of Elneny, Mustafi, Cech, Lichtsteiner, Koscielny, Jenkinson possibly Wellbeck to make room for the type of players Unai needs to push the Club forward.

Where has all the ****ing money gone ? I know being out of the CL has cost us, but seriously ? This is one of the biggest clubs in English football and we can't afford to make any permanent signings ? Kronke, put your hands in your ****ing pocket and sort this **** out

Sky's Kaveh S. says its because we spent big last summer, and bought Aubameyang last January, and before that we bought Lacazette. All that adds up to around £170m. Add in Ozil's contract and thats why we cant afford to buy.

Sure thats a lot of money, but what I dont understand is this doesnt take into transfers out. We have sold enough players to cover Lacazette and Aubameyang. Yes we spent £70m last summer, but surely just because we spend that much in one transfer window doesnt mean we skip the next one!? (I mean Coutinho alone went for £130m, Neymar for £200m). They are saying that as the 6th richest club in the world we cant afford to spend more than £70m over 2 windows!?!??!

Whatever the reasons, the numbers just dont add up to me.

That Ozil contract was a mistake, because not only is it a huge amount to service, but it also sends a message to other players that they (or their agents) can barter up their salaries. But that said, surely we have the ability to spend in the transfer market ? What was all that about 'keeping our powder dry' that Gazidis used to go on about ? Yes I know we've bought Auba and Laca, but given the resources the club has in terms of gate receipts, sponsorship and commercial contracts, where has the rest of it gone ? We had a huge clear out of deadwood a few seasons ago.

    Mustafi £30 Million?!
Ozil on 330k a week! - waiste of ****ing money. He's almost at Arshavin level of regular below par performances now.
Why did we sign Lacazette if we were just going to sign Aubameyang?! Was TWO very similar CF's (both great) really the best way to spend £110 million? especially when you consider we still had Giroud on the books.

The truth is we've spent badly and we have done a terrible job tying down players. From Ramsey and Sanchez alone we should have brought in at least £60million. Then there's no Champions League revenue and we are stuck with injury prone players like Koscielny,Monreal and Wellbeck on first team wages but barely getting any game time.

In terms of Minslat signings.. Torreira and Guendouzi were great for the money but Leno and Sokratis have both been fairly disappointing.

Bit harsh on Sokratis and Leno that tbh. Both have had fairly solid first seasons.

Well maybe but we are on course for conceding 50 goals this Season - Our whole back 5 has been poor. Leno has had good games but he has also proved to be quite error prone.
