Freeman didn't catch the shot as well as he could have.
It could be argued that Eze caught the volley far too well as it really flew, which made it look a bad miss.
Imo, had it flown into the top corner, fans (obviously not the haters) would have been calling it a worldy!
It really wasn't an easy chance and people saying things like "I'd have fancied myself to score that" really expose their ignorance.

Anyway, what we should focus on is that Freeman is in great form, scoring a screamer and then playing in Pawel with a lovely pass to lead to the 2nd goal.
Also, Eze had a return to form and his goal was an excellent finish too.

Col, it was a bad miss by Eze. You really should get over it.

By the way, wouldn't you say that calling people that disagree with you 'ignorant' is rather bad form? I seem to recall people being criticised for similar attitudes over Brexit.

Oh, and if you don't want your son to be part of the conversation, you should stop telling us all what he thinks, as if his is the definitive view.

I have to say it all got nasty after Kodjia caught Lumley in the face. It looked at the time as though the foot was left in and it certainly didn't look accidental. It took the ref a long time to book him too, and I think he only booked him as a result of the linesman.
The famous Holte end were baying to get on with play, even though they were having problems stopping the bleeding. Several times the villa players tried to pull him to his feet and there were mini scuffles over that. It was really nasty the reaction of the crowd, shouting to get him off after he had been kicked in the head by one of their own players. Anythinhg Lumley did in time wasting after that is completely understandable in my book. I am surprised that we haven't been told he has concussion. He will not play on Sunday, that I am certain (yes I know he wouldnt have anyway, but still!).
Towards the end there was an element of both teams being out on their feet, and after Freeman sent Eze through at about 100 minutes, Villa also decided that a point was enough.

Finally I was shocked how nasty Villa were, especially when things were not going their way. I was surprised how quiet the stadium was on the whole (except for the 1000 Rs fans). At Loftus Road we make twice the noise with less than half the fans
I was also shocked how vicious the comments about us were on the way to that station afterwards....but how vicious the comments were about their players too (except for the god Tammy Abraham).
I enjoyed yesterday a lot...and I learnt a whole new songbook of chants too

Beth, you mean people verbally abused you on way to the station? Very poor if that's the case. What happens in the stadium should stay there in my view.

Not me personally, I was in "disguise"...but my team...
how much they hated us, we were so lucky, cheated so much with the pretend injuries etc

They were shouting and abusing a gang of of more obvious Rs supporters, but nothing too threatening really...

Also there was a quite heated discussion on the train between two sets of villa supporters about how **** their team was..
Smith is a useless ****, that sort of thing .....that fracas had potential to have been quite nasty, as they were pushing and shoving. But it was an internal dispute.

Just saying ...yhey were so loud outside..and quiet in stadium

Firstly, get your facts right (not easy for you I know). I actually said that it was "ignorance" to say that you would have scored with that volley (<laugh>), as it displayed a certain amount of ignorance concerning the actual mechanics of playing the game. I never said you were ignorant because you disagreed with me.
I don't mind my Son being part of the conversation when I give his opinions. You said that he was only saying it to agree with me and that was the "bollocks" part of your nonsense post. He has his own opinions which often differ from mine. He is a very good player and therefore understands that any volley falling out of the sky, on your wrong foot is never an easy finish, unlike you who hilariously thinks he'd have had a better chance of scoring than Eze.<yikes>
I'll never agree that it was an "easy" chance and maintain that Freeman's (which he mis-hit) was easier.

OK, this is getting a bit silly now, but as you're talking about getting facts right, what I said was I would have 'fancied' myself to score that. I'm sure your son is a good player Col, but I was pretty decent too in my time and I also 'understand' about the game (such misplaced condescension).

Anyway, let's agree that we disagree, as we always do - about everything.

Thanks Beth. Big club mentality with an assumed right to win. As others have said, without promotion this year, FFP will be waiting for them!

Different angle of the Lumley incident. It looks deliberate to me and should've been a red.

As deliberate as they come. I remember from the reverse at Loftus Road reading on a Villa forum post match (couldn't help myself), one poster complaining that one of their players didn't leave his foot in on the goalkeeper. Where does these morons come from? Hideous club and fans.

Been having an argument ( very unlike me :emoticon-0136-giggl ) with a Villa fan and to listen to what he says about “Lumleygate” (his words not mine ) is basically the following.
Kodjia was fouled by Lumley who brought him down and was lucky not to get a red and Villa should have had a penalty WTF !!!
Upon showing the cabbage this different angle footage his reply was, and I quote
“ look at the way Kodjia goes down, you can see him holding his knee / leg and it’s perfectly clear your keeper tripped him up with his head “ WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K !!!!
Now imagine that being said in that whiny Jasper Carrot yamyam accent.
I’m not convinced if he meant it tongue in cheek or was deadly serious because with that Brummie single monosyllabic whine I couldn’t tell, but I’m actually concerned that he might think in his tiny little mind that he is actually right, the reason I’m concerned is that I’m pretty sure people with that level of diminished mental capacity (to even suggest what he said with a straight face) should not be allowed out without a carer especially in a public place, and should definitely not be allowed to have an opinion of any sort on a subject they clearly have absolutely no knowledge of.

F**k me that's disgraceful....wreckless in the extreme.....he's a lucky boy to only be given a belated yellow card and Lumley is fortunate not to have face fractures....

He went down (belatedly) holding his leg because he was obviously worried that he was in big trouble.

Didn't you all see what he did at first viewing? Me and the boy were both saying that he should be sent off before any replays.
He should get a three match ban (at least), but the FL will turn a blind eye. Imagine if one of our players had done it?
