Former Burnley and Northern Ireland forward Jimmy McIlroy has died at the age of 86. McIlroy played 497 games for the Clarets between 1950 and 1962, winning the old First Division title in 1960.
RIP Jimmy a great player.

Opera singer Montserrat Caballé, whose duet with Freddie Mercury became the signature song of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, has died aged 85.

Former BBC newsreader Richard Baker has died aged 93., London-born Baker introduced the first BBC TV news bulletin broadcast in July 1954. He went on to front the Last Night of the Proms and present on Radio 2, 3 and 4.

Former Tory minister and government whip Baroness Trumpington has died at the age of 96.

The peer, who retired from the Lords last year, served in the Department of Health and Ministry of Agriculture in the 1980s and 1990s.

Seven years ago, footage showing her making a V-sign at a fellow Tory over what she saw as a rude remark about her age went viral online.

In World War Two, she worked in naval intelligence at Bletchley Park.

Fluent in French and German, the then 18-year-old worked as a cypher clerk, transcribing messages from German submarines for code breakers.

They dont make them like that anymore RIP
