My old man was born in Charlton and grew up there. Met my mum in Lewisham and they married at All Saints Church on Blackheath, 50 years ago this October just gone. When I was growing up in South East London, I used to go to Highbury mainly, but if Arsenal were playing up north and I couldn't go, then I'd either go to watch Charlton, West Ham or Millwall.

Haven't been out on a NYE for years but got a few coming over tonight so will have a house full of kids and adults.
Thai food, brought in from the local Thai chefs house (Yes, honestly).
Will enjoy the beer tonight then have a couple of weeks off it.
Golf tomorrow, looking forward to that more than anything.

Staying in tonight, partly because our usual babysitters are out getting drunk but mostly because I’d rather pressure-cook my own head than go into town on NYE.

Got a sirloin steak marinating in soy sauce and steak seasoning, i've part boiled some spuds for my roasties. Lincolnshire sausages, some fried onions and mushrooms, and some peas.
Already got a can open, didn't want to do much today as i'm back in work tomorrow.
