My old man was born in Charlton and grew up there. Met my mum in Lewisham and they married at All Saints Church on Blackheath, 50 years ago this October just gone. When I was growing up in South East London, I used to go to Highbury mainly, but if Arsenal were playing up north and I couldn't go, then I'd either go to watch Charlton, West Ham or Millwall.

So, what's everyone plans for tonight?

Anything or just **** it?

Haven't been out on a NYE for years but got a few coming over tonight so will have a house full of kids and adults.

Thai food, brought in from the local Thai chefs house (Yes, honestly).

Will enjoy the beer tonight then have a couple of weeks off it.

Golf tomorrow, looking forward to that more than anything.

Watched the utd game late last night on MUTV. Ole ole ole

 

Staying in tonight, partly because our usual babysitters are out getting drunk but mostly because I’d rather pressure-cook my own head than go into town on NYE.

I’ll probably fall asleep about 10:30 amidst another ****e film, but at least I’ll be up nice and early and fresh to smash my first training sesh in for 2019.

 

Bottle of Appleton Rum, bag of weed. Jools Holland and my son staying over. Bliss.

Working today till 7:30 though so that's a bitch.

 

Off to a house party at friends. Will have a slightly different feel this year as my mates misses (the host) will be 50 tomorrow.

Its looking like I'm going to need an operation on my heart so I'll be away for a little while longer, yet.

Got a sirloin steak marinating in soy sauce and steak seasoning, i've part boiled some spuds for my roasties. Lincolnshire sausages, some fried onions and mushrooms, and some peas.

Already got a can open, didn't want to do much today as i'm back in work tomorrow.

 

I'll have a round of golf and build from there!
