Only reason I can see us getting him is if both Silva and Iborra leave as he won't be a first team player - have heard a rumour that King will be added to the Premier League squad if that happens instead though.
We are linked with Samuel Chukwueze, a 19yo Nigerian winger from Villereal - one of those clubs that are after Iborra and who might be willing to make a deal.
Silva is gone by all accounts and I suspect the club will tell Iborra he can leave at the end of the season if he wants to. We have alot of depth but lacks the quality in depth Puel said he wanted to send Choudhury out on loan but said today that wont happen now
Bayern Munich are set to make a £13m bid for Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi, 18, in January. (Daily Mail) Not sure how we compete with Bayern Munich but this is one that would fit in with our transfer system and really add something to us. What’s good is that, under Puel, young English players will look at what we’ve done with people like Chilwell, Maguire Maddison and Choudhury and it they’ll know if they perform well they’ll have a chance. Makes us more attractive than most English teams for young players
Would be a good shout but would prefer us to spend the money on someone that can go straight into the first team like Samuel Chukwueze who plays in the same position and is a only a year older. Would potentially need to break our transfer record to get him but apparently Villereal are open to a deal including Iborra for him.
Tbh I didn't before we were linked with him but I am liking what I hear and read https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/...s/who-samuel-chukwueze-leicester-city-2369912
January we need 3 players. A striker, winger and midfield If we get 3 quality players in them positions I think we can really kick on. We need someone to support Vardy and take the pressure off him as the main goalscorer A winger who can actually create chances and chip in with some goals And a creative midfielder who can pass a ball forward. Not having a go at Mendy or Ndidi its not their game. Silva flopped massiveley and we need to replace Drinkwater properly It took us 6 months to replace Kante with Ndidi. We still havent replaced Drinkwater properly and Mahrez needs replacing properly still
I agree with the sentiment but no way will we sign all that in January. Also nobody that good will come to us. We can’t compete for the finished article. We have to aim for youn up and comers which is what our fans are now kicking off about
Call Slimani and Barnes back and sign a creative midfielder. That will fill the holes until the end of the season
I’m torn with Barnes. I do feel he’d benefit staying put for the season but if he was coming back to be heavily involved I wouldn’t be adverse to it. Silva is probably the answer to the midfield problem especially in a 3 but nobody seems to want to give him another chance. Can’t see Slimani being involved again, lots of talk over a back attitude from what I remember
Silva has shown us nothing in a Leicester shirt to suggest his the answer to anything. Talk is he has agreed a deal with Sporting
Silva has the same problem Iheanacho and Puel has. A number of our fans who decide to hate on them and not give them a chance. I don’t believe we have seen Silva in the system we played over Christmas in the midfield 3. Maybe he’d have been more suited to that? Either way, rightly or wrongly I agree that is seems his time with us is done. No doubt he’ll be a roaring success again after us. It only seems to be us who can’t nurture players and get their best form out of them. But we need a central midfielder of that ilk as Ndidi and Mendy don’t have that forward thinking pass that we are missing. No idea who people thinking we could get instead. Btw many of those who slate Silva for not being good enough were also the ones who wanted Chilwell binned and were slating Ricardo after the first few games. It sometimes takes more than 5 even 10 games for a player to settle and show his best.
No one wanted Chilwell get rid of. Last season he struggled at times and people called for him to be rested for Fuchs. It was simply a case of pulling him out the fire for abit and no one slated Ricardo that much. Defensivley he was a liability but as soon he became first choice right back he grew into the role and atm he is our best player Silva doesnt have age on his side like the other 2. My issue with Silva is he doesnt try to make things happen in games. Its simple 5,10 yard sideways passes And before people say creating chances isnt his game it was at Sporting and thats what we brought him to do. He just hasnt settled and like Gokhan Inler. He cant cope with the pace of the Premier League. Going back to Sporting suits all parties aslong as we get all or most of our money back
Re the full backs I wasn’t saying you or even anyone on here btw but as far as Foxestalk is concerned, there were many wanting rid of both. If we can get the money back for Silva I’d be for it. I still think he’s never had a run in the team though. Has he even played back to back games?
We look set to lose out on Clyne - he wants first team football and is right to assume that he will be behind Ricardo. Caen and Fenerbahce want Diabate on loan. Besiktas want Slimani - we have already said that we don't want him back and Fenerbahce are desperate to get rid as he has been worse then useless for them so would work out all round. Calum Elder is set to join Ipswich on loan - he is already there training with their first team.
Talk is Slimani is trying to engineer a return back to Sporting where Silva has already agreed a deal by the sounds of it We have told Fenerbache we wont terminate the loan but will let him leave there if someone elses takes him
