As I tried to type before the after effects of having cold cuts one day later than is a good idea hit, without Verts or Dier on the pitch we can't defend corners and it's been a problem a few times this season when they've been unavailable, and that's where their first two goals came from

Luckily for us Pulis and Allarshyte aren't managing in the Premier League this season, or we'd really be up **** Creek...
They tend to slip up in the opponent's penalty area, which is why the refs want to spare them the embarrassment and compensate them with a penalty

Mate that's some understatement. Arsenal have a back 5 of

    Maitland-Niles

    Lichsteiner
    Sokratis
    Mustafi

    Kalasinac

I hope they remembered the lube!

  3. Sonny was bright first half but anonymous 2nd.
    Dele was poor throughout.
    Eriksen was MIA
Winks reverted to type and Skippy should have come on for him.
Sissoko was arguably the one who kept going but desperately needs a rest.
Trippier is living on reputation - he was dreadful. KWP deserves a few games.
Lloris again failed to cover himself in glory.. . Must be a chance for Gazza to get a run out.
Davies wasn't great today, but not sure Rose would have improved things.

Poch post match: "The game was under control in the first half and maybe it was easier than we expected. In the second half we started to maybe feel the game was over and when you feel that you play the wrong way."

THIS is why I’m upset and use words like pathetic. It’s 100% about mentality. We switched off. Justifications like tiredness and substitute options is just excuse seeking. We had that game in our hands and took our foot off the gas, thinking Wolves would play the same as the first half.

We HAVE to learn if we’re going to stop these performances against supposed lesser teams.

Agreed. Especially over Trippier. But until Auriers back, we have to rotate him and KWP for the reasons discussed.

Directors need to take note of this defeat today and the circumstances under which it has occurred.

Yeah Davies was poor as well.

But Lloris is really annoying me with his form over the past 18 months. Don’t get me wrong, he got back to near his best for a spell this season but in two of the past three games he’s gone back to conceding sloppy goals again.

Eriksen was poor but he’s generally been excellent, today was just a very, very poor day for him.

I thought we eased off at 1-0, instead of going for the jugular and scoring a second and possibly third, but 9 games in 28 days with minimal rotation has caught up with us, our players looked worn out second half.

Today's also one of those days where Wembley's a curse. It's half full. Only the opposition want to be there and their players and fans are well up for it. At our own stadium, we might well have got that over the line.

And yet the "blip" followed exactly the same pattern as many
"blips" in previous seasons. Strange eh ...

Pochettino has done an excellent job so far despite weakness in squad freshness and depth..
Midfield strengthening required now. A top four finish is crucial for this club this season.

completely disagree...the football they play is classy...they gave free flowing city one hell of a game earlier in the season, were excellent today and even when they lose they look good. I get feeling disappointed...I was there <yikes> but sometimes you can not simply slaughter us for losing.
think we have played 11 matches in 35 days... Chelsea, inter, arsenal, Southampton, Leicester, Barca, Burnley, Arsenal, Everton, Bournemouth and Wolves... (the last 4 in the last 10 days and the last 3 in 6 days ) we are running on empty and could not live with a team playing good passing high pressing football...whereas we could we teams playing a low intensity passing game like Bournemouth and Everton...I would suggest those were the average teams.
It's a disappointing result but before the season started all of us would have accepted this ... 10 more wins will pretty much guarentee us top 4...that is our goal imho...I think the second half of the season will be a slog... particularly if we remain in the cups...but now is not the time to panic in my opinion.

Not at all strange. We are now good enough to get 80-90 points over a season so we are going to have enough blips to lose about 30 points. If we get slightly better we will get more points and have fewer blips Exactly which games we will have blips in and who we will lose to is more down to luck than anything else. But we've got better in every season under Pochettino.

We are all disappointed, but we have done remarkably well considering how many players have been missing. To have had Dier, Dembele and Vertonghen available in the last 7 days to rotate would have made so much difference, when you factor in Aurier, Wanyama and Lamela too and the fact that Sanchez is coming back from a month out, and Foyth and Trippier have also only recently returned, then I think that we have done very well, lets hope reinforcements arrive in January.

Maybe today we should have started Skippy or at least got him and Lucas on at half time, stiffened up the middle and played on the break a bit more?

It's moot now but we are too easy to read regarding in-game changes. Wolves knew we'd tire and played for it. If we'd done something earlier, we could have made it a bit more difficult for them?

    Still, onwards mon frere!

This is the reason we've always regarded our selves as a cup team. We do so well then screw up and let our rivals accumulate points at our expense.
I can't see a championship in my lifetime, what's left of it!...….but I can still dream!!!!

Today,we screwed up while Arsenal were a screw up. I hope Cardiff are not at home rubbing there hands in anticipation...……..

Over on r/coys the theory they're working with is that, as Sissoko has to babysit Trippier far more than he does Aurier or KWP, it leaves Winks exposed in the middle and that causes us to get overrun

In other words r/coys has decided that Trippier is the lightning rod for everything that goes wrong this season and we're supposed to forget the three months where Dier was at fault for everything

I don't think we have the required minerals. Don't know about everyone else but for me...this was that game of intent again. We were sat 2nd...could have closed the gap...choked.
