    Hi Guys

I've lost count of the number of reports today, also creating your own mods work. I really don't want to be here, and i'm pretty sure some of your members do not want me here either.

I don't know the solution to your differences to be perfectly honest. I would say put one another on ignore, but i guess that's not a solution for you both, otherwise you would have done it by now.

So i will disappear again, in the hope my services are not required, and bid you all a good evening and a very merry christmas.

    <cheers>
brb (admin in case you didn't know)

The problem is the majority view (clique) have very narrow bands which are deemed as acceptable. Mainly this consists of Brexit and Tory bashing. We have lost many posters that have felt unwelcome when their right of centre views have been immediately attacked by several abusive posters. It is not debate that some are looking for but simply censorship of opposing views.

I have been messaged in private through PM's, it is not my place to make public their comments but rest assured there have been several. You have been guilty several times of overstepping the mark, you have very selective memory.

I have said my piece, about the reality of the situation. I have been urged on occasions to seek a ban, and have resisted it. Despite my well known views, which are very moderate compared to what I might post elsewhere, I do know how to look at things from a dispassionate point of view. In my business life I became accustomed to listening to greedy shareholders and shop floor requests, and always found that by seeing both sides there was a middle road that satisfied both parties. If people cannot accept that there are two sides to an argument, then they haven't really grasped the situation.
Let's cut out the silly one line nonsense, say what you have to say with some thought, and I am sure we can all get on.

Check up on all your posts and you will find that you have insulted or belittled about 10 posters, some of whom are still here and some not. Naturally you will get a reaction sometimes because we are only human. Many on here are sick of your endless provocation and belittling of other posters - you respect me and I will do the same back, simple as that - and you will find the same applies to Yorkie. If you have received PMs regarding other posters then either produce them, or don't bring up the subject in the first place - the latter being the better course. Or it would be even better to inform the writers of those PMs that they should make their complaints directly to the person concerned.

Most have left the forum because of the abuse suffered from those objecting to views which do conform to those the clique allow. We had one poster about a year ago that was set upon by 2 or 3 long term posters. He wondered why the anti Tory brigade were so aggressive. He just gave up and left.

Please SH you are sounding like an old fashioned record player that needs rewinding. You came out with this before, and it proved to be wrong. You do not realise that I hold a lot of information that I would never repeat, and those who have entrusted me with personal information know over time that I do not disclose it to any one. By making your claims in my judgement you are making yourself look silly, but I cannot show why without breaking trust.

I mentioned this before because it was true. I am not disclosing private PM messages because they were in confidence.
As part of the clique you are showing a lack of understanding of your position as a moderator. You have rightly been criticised by others to this affect in the past, you don't seem to have corrected it. I'm afraid you are making yourself look extremely silly once again.

There is no clique here. Just a majority of posters who by and large are quite polite to you, but disagree. You might feel that you are in a minority, as you are, but there is no need to carry on with your divisive posting on this forum. I could point you to another forum on the same subject that would make mincemeat out of you in very impolite terms, how very seasonal, and they would not be half as understanding of your views as people are here. Yes we know what you want, yes we know that you open your cheque book to support the Tories, but because the majority here don't, doesn't make us any less people who have an opinion on what the country is being dragged down to.
If anyone wishes to PM me, to complain about anything, including you or me, they are quite entitled to. To date I can say that my inbox although pretty full, does not have complaints about the way I try to handle things, except for the fact that I am too soft on you. As I said I have resisted calls from sources that you might not think of to be more severe, but maybe I should stop trying to mediate and listen to the calls.

  10. You're welcome on here as far as I'm concerned. Recently the discussions you've partaken in have given lie to certain "facts" being perpetuated by some <hug>

Long since advocated the closing of this thread and the other political threads. Nothing that has been posted of late is changing my mind.

I had a lengthy conversation with brb, which somehow got down to rosy cheeked housewives picking apples and hops for pin money in Kent. I don't think I changed his mind, and he didn't change mine, but it was an enjoyable exchange of views. That is how it should be.

As a paid up member of the clique you must do as you wish. Personally I think you bring the moderator position into disrepute if it ever meant anything. Although you are not one of the more abusive members of the clique your constant anti UK stance is rather wearing, I simply put this down to insecurity in your decision to relocate to France.

I'm sure you can create a forum where only those wallowing in self pity can freely post with anti Brexit slogans and lefty comments reigning supreme.

I think this is a further and continuing example of posts which seek to denigrate others on this message board..

You have said this before, so it requires little consideration. Do you really think you are contributing when you just keep up the personal abuse?

This is principally why I do not contribute much to the political discussions and why I don't join discussion groups in our University of the Third Age association as it principally made up of teachers/lecturers and Scottish Nationalists, and is a reason why Mme Scullion left one of her book groups, she felt there a bad atmosphere towards her even though she generally keeps her own council on such matters, although she cannot help being English.
