<laugh> KDP don't make me laugh this early in the morning
Running a business in France? <laugh> I have plenty of friends out there who have tried to get something off the ground only to be stopped by bureaucracy and crap rules and regulations. Bunch of protectionists.

When I bought my holiday home out in France I met an English lady who is married to a french guy and lived there for 25 years. She is one of the very few British that can actually get a job in France. Anyway, I will never forget her words. “Either retire here or just have a holiday home. Don’t live and work in France”. :1980_boogie_down:

I also have a French friend who runs a business here who said she would never be able to do it in France. ‘It would be a nightmare. It is so easy here”.

This all reminds me of that funny comment when GW Bush was talking about French business not having a word for ‘entrepreneur’<laugh>

Totally agree unless you are very clever and fully understand the pitfalls don’t try to run a business in France ... it’s very difficult and something not for the faith hearted the taxes are mind blowing

Some things far superior in France however if you know how to play the system but general rule is just live and get on with it

Business much easier to do in the UK

I have the option of both as an individual so works great for me. Thankfully not that many caught onto the fantastic work/life balance that is possible... I see that as the most important aspect on living but respect those who don’t

On the business thing however I maintain the UK would be far stronger inside the EU hence why I don’t believe a Brexiteer even knows what they want and the source frustration is one that is full of blame for anything.

You can sit still and moan or get going and a Brexiteer will face that shortly. It’s about having the faith that things will really change... I cannot share that faith with current UK culture plus I haven’t got the time to find out

Bloody hell how many remainers can Sky News fit into 1hour of news?

This is why I wouldn't want a second 'losers vote' as the media would flood every news current affairs programs with remainers saying how disastrous a 'no deal' would be scaring the crap out of everyone.

I also love the analogy where remainers keep comparing Brexit to buying a house?

    You know the one….

“it’s like buying a house and getting a survey done that tells you the house is no good but you continue anyway”?

Only problem with that, is when the surveyor has been wrong many times before (Carney) and he wants to put you off for his mates.
I also think that Lord Adonis is a crafty little muppet. Another voice of May's vote/Remain

-JPMorgan: “thousands” of jobs from London to Dublin, Frankfurt, Germany, and Luxembourg.

-Barclays: 396 jobs from London to Dublin, where it will set up EU headquarters.

-Bank of America: moving EU headquarters from London to Dublin.

-UBS: over 1,000 jobs from London to EU offices, including Frankfurt.

-Moneygram: moving EU headquarters from London to Brussels.

-European Medicines Agency: moving from London to Amsterdam, including 1024 jobs.

-European Banking Authority: moving from London to Paris, including 240 jobs .

-Estimated 2,900 staff of support companies of the snapshot above based in the UK also on the move

-Dublin as a major business centre predicted by 2022

    - 200 restaurants currently closing each day

    - Retail figures on UK highstreets very poor

-14500 new jobs planned by Amazon to service the UK market orchestrated probably from Dublin

Oh really, you have proof, paperwork, interviews with said companies CEO’s until then just more of your absolute remoaner scaremongering bollox.
Meanwhile still waiting on your expert remoaner take on France and EU’s piss poor PMI results, and fact European Central Bank Stops major 2.9 billion euro funding for its pet project the QE stimulus, the fact EU zone has 0% interest rates, still waiting because you have no answer because the EU without the U.K. is finished but you are blind to the truth and have no answer to something that makes you look the absolute fool you are.

If your strongest response is that you won't believe it until you've personally seen the paperwork, you may need to rethink your argument...most (I think all) of the top 8 bullets have been confirmed directly by the organisations outlined.

This is the problem with this debate, and thread. We live in a post truth world, and people are simply unwilling to engage in the facts that don't suit their narrative. I'm sure both sides are guilty to one degree or the other.

Massive thank you to the "Moggster" who refered to it as the "losers vote" in the commons today. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Maybe so but I gave him facts and figures regarding his beloved France and EU yet he refuses to to acknowledge them because they make his argument null and void but he continually posts his version of things and expects us leavers to agree.
You cannot have a debate or an argument if one party doesn’t acknowledge or answer questions that make him look foolish, I’m afraid on here we live in a world where HE Is right and in his opinion the rest of us are idiots even if we give himself facts and figures to counter his arguments and prove him wrong.
I have come to the conclusion he is nothing more than a wum, and probably not a very smart one at that.

Absolutely its forum tennis for me
All guilty of finding stuff to counter post
I do actually respect the Brexiteer’s points but today’s copy and selective paste was purely to combat seeing a Nigel video ... a man that encapsulates no future plan imo

Typical bias media. On sky today there was a disagreement between 2 MP’s. The remainder continually spoke over the leaver until he said, “what’s the point of me being here”? He left which seemed to please Kay Burley so we could listen to more project fear. Sad thing was that she didn’t even know how much money goes to the EU or couldn’t answer any basic questions. She was then accused on Twitter for being aggressive and pointing.

    So….

They have removed the tweet so you guys don’t get to see it.

As I said, both sides guilty to one degree or other, at different times. Will personally strive to always engage with the difficult facts on both sides of the debate - despite knowing and admitting my own clear biases. Can appreciate the frustration of not wanting to engage when others are not too but would implore you to rise above it! Nothing personal as I'm sure I fall foul of it at times, despite best efforts.

im actually a soft leaver. :emoticon-0100-smile

Although I must say I was surprised today the amount of people that were talking up a 'No deal' and even the PM saying she is having a cabinet meeting tomorrow re No deal. I was also interested to hear that they have put £4b aside for preparations.
