More to the point why would someone describing this as an awful thing to happen in Hull be a negative?

If she'd said "a typical thing to happen in Hull" that would be awful.

However, she said it was an awful thing to have happened as she felt it untypical of such a fair City.

She didn't say that either, though.

I know. There is a big difference in going out to cause offense, and taking offense at anything and everything including snowmen.

It wasn’t just about snowmen though was it?

It was essentially a gripe about not be able to be AS openly racist, sexist etc. anymore.

They weren't running a variation of a story they were reporting on something a bunch of sad eejit wanted to impose on someone.

It was a non-story picked up by a lot of press and media but TDM are obsessive about PC and have been for years.
