I don't honestly think there is enough time for another leader to do anything different. The Tory government would still be divided as would parliment.
Top post Col. On 2 and 3, with the benefit of hindsight I agree. We should have kicked off by telling the EU that our interpretation of the referendum result was a desire for a clean break. Then the EU would have had the task of coming up with answers for the Irish border etc. If they are serious about standing behind Ireland they have to make us an acceptable offer, the Irish will suffer even more than us from a no deal Brexit (well, that’s what economists say). And it’s probably what we should do now, but she’s out begging for favours instead.
The Tories can't hang around. There's discussion about her coming back to Parliament during January. This is too late in my view. If she comes back from the Continent with nothing (which she will) then there needs to be change of leader asap. If the leadership appointment is contested, it would take six weeks, taking us to late Jan, which, if preparations are continuing apace for no deal, is just about long enough for the new leader to prepare for the end of March exit

Let the EU come up with a deal which they believe will get through our Parliament then, if no deal is not an option. We have proved that we don’t have the minerals or talent in our political system to do it. I haven’t seen anything from them to make me think they are any better, but it’s their turn to have a go.
Goldie I am listening to various media and they are turning on her. One MP (remainer) has told Sky that, "She will be gone by Christmas". Another has said he “has lost confidence in her”. Apparently more letters have gone in. Sadly we don’t know how many. I also think that the 3 options on the table for Tories are “No deal”/“another vote”/“Corbyn” . I see a ‘No deal’ more than ever now.
Maybe we should get the EU to disband? That way we can make everyone happy over Brexit. We will also save them 10 years.
Yes, we're heading for WTO terms, but I think we'll get a better deal before that because WTO is the last thing Ireland wants, and won't do any good for the rest of the EU. For the UK, we don't pay out £37bn and solve the Brexit question. But none of this will happen under May. The only exception I can think of is if she is forced to be answerable to a Cabal (an inner cabinet dominated by Brexit ministers), so stays as a figurehead but with no real power. I don't know whether this is possible - I haven't heard it canvassed on the media
Sky are reporting that what is bemusing the EU is that they thought they had got a fantastic deal, which May and Ollie Robbins said would get through Parliament. Then May doesn't put it to Parliament. It's May and her team's ineptitude that has caused this current issue and for once, I have some sympathy for the EU who thought they had it in the bag. May is now talking about not having a vote in Parliament on her deal until January, presumably in the hope that time pressures before March will push Parliament to vote for it. I just cannot see the Tories allowing her to play it this way, but we'll see.
Yeah the guy on the radio said the same. The later the date the more chance of a 'No deal" but also makes everone think MP's/EU.

Spot on. WTO will not be the end of the world - but it will bring on some very different challenges. The biggest change and danger will come from the EU. They have up to now been able to stay together, once there is a No Deal - how long do you think that lasts for? The EU wants one thing and one thing only - to remain in absolute power, it can't, if we continue these trends the move to the Right will gather even further momentum and the house will come tumbling down anyway. The EU have been bullies to Greece - We just read the media that tells us they are lazy bastards, but the reality is as with the UK, that their own politcos were/are useless, and people were **** scared of the worst case scenario. The EU have been bullies to Spain - How could they just stand by and watch 60% youth unemployment - but the reality is as with the UK, that thier own polticos were/are useless, and people were **** scared of the worst case scenario. The EU has tried to be a bully to the UK - the reality is that their own politicos are so uselss that people are in doubt and fear this "worst case scenario" The story goes on and on - can anyone see a trend here that National politics has lost all its quality within the EU? Name me one Gov't that is considered strong and liked by its electorate? Once WTO has settled down and everyone has worked out it's not a killer - guess what will happen then? As a negotiator for the UK - I'd enter with the opening gambit that not actually are we planning for WTO, we actively want it, and will make it work. It will take the Mother of all agreements to take us away from that position - no ****ed up Norway deal for the UK. It takes a strong Gov't which the EU has managed to erode from everyone.

Do the people on here and elsewhere that speak blithely about No Deal and WTO really think that this is an acceptable or even attractive outcome? I can just about understand our using it as some kind of reckless brinkmanship in negotiating, but there are people around who seem to relish the prospect of it actually happening. Talk about 'enemy within'.
