The problem for me, would always be the alternative, as I fundamentally could never vote for Labour, because of the big government, spend, spend, spend, manifestoes. That has been proven to always lead to lower economic growth, and soaring government debt levels, which is toxic
Not a chance. I voted Labour under Corbyn but always said if he was thrown out as leader to get a more moderate leader in, I would soon go back to voting TUSC.
Fair enough. Each to their own. I do think this is the end of the Tories for a fair while until they can rebuild.
Personally, I've been resigned to Brexit happening for almost two years now but that means compromising and finding the route that is most acceptable to the majority. Although we've come at it from opposing standpoints that seems the obvious solution. However nobody is going to get it until they try to compromise. That all follows from the pure Brexiteers shouting everything down without offering a solution. Standing tall and proud and simply refusing anything at all to force a No deal solution never had the appeal for the vast majority they feel for it. While May was certainly weak and stupid dare I say it her biggest mistake was to follow the lead of her arch critics and assume that she only had to name her terms. If you push it to the brink upping the stakes all the time but realise that you are in a hiding to nothing you need to change tack and start to win over friends in Europe. They've stared into her eyes and know that she has got the message. What I would dearly love would be for one Boris Johnson or JRM to replace her and do what they've said. Remarkable how they shy away at that prospect. Does that not tell you something. When your own leaders will not put up a candidate for leadership is it not clear even to you that they know they will fail miserably when they play hardball. Ever since the fiasco of the failed attempt to muster a measly number of backers to call for a vote of no confidence and the remarkable silence from the Brexit leadership nobody with any brain cells can possibly take any of them seriously. What happened to their patriotic duty to do what they believed was right for the sake of their country. So, inexorably we lurch towards a couple more years of infighting and posturing before the public puts them out of their misery at the next general election having achieved precisely nothing notwithstanding the good will of the Labour party to hour the result of the referendum from day one. When Corbyn's Labour get elected he can thank the people who made it all possible for him. The Conservative Party will single handedly put him into No.10 because nobody is going to trust them to deliver anything ever again.
Confident the Remainer QPR five a side football team will thrash the Brexiteers muppets Only way to settle it
Not sure... depends if it means Corbyn getting in. I see a new party that will vote for brexit winning loads of seats. Rememebr 2/3 of constituancies voted to leave. Us leavers will be p'd if let down so if Farage or anyone gets a Brexit party I and many leavers would vote for them. If it was Mickey Mouse as candidate and wanted to leave I would vote for them.... and yes, if it ment a harder right party as well. That is sad because I was a center Tory. not a hard right.
You really are a piece of work. There are pages and pages of reasoned argument from me here. You simply don't acknowledge this and plough on with your head in the sand.
Anyway as I see things.. The EU won't budge. May won't budge House won't budge so This will only leave WTO. There won't be another vote as too many MPs would be crapping themselves. That ECJ thing means nothing now (move on). Norway isn't even being mentioned. Commons cant stop what Government do so unless they somehow force an election (which I cant see as Tories/ DUP) would vote it down. Get your beans in boys!
Agree, if you listened to the post, Brexit vote cancellation debate, Corbyn didn't have a clue, the SNP screamed hysteria, Vince was second referendum bullshit. So WTO seems the only possible path, as you say the EU cannot soften terms, and because of the NI backstop, May cant change.
I'm afraid I can't see it mate. I'm convinced brexit will either be stopped all together or else we'll remain in all but name. Then most of the remainers on here will be cheering the death of democracy.
