Hard to imagine just what is going on in May's head, every single big decision she makes is the wrong one, usually after everyone and their dog has been telling her for ages. Unless the EU is prepared to reopen negotiations (regardless of who is prime minister, Tory or otherwise), or MPs suddenly accept the May version, I think we are timed out, it’s no deal or an extension of Article 50. It takes 6 months to organise a referendum (3 months to get the legislation through and the Electoral Commission requires a 3 month campaign). A General Election requires a minimum 25 day campaign, not happening until well into New Year at the earliest, then forming a government, especially with hung Parliament which I still think is likely. My money is on extension of Article 50 deadline. Followed by another referendum, to everyone’s disgust. What a ****ing mess.
Everyone's disgust? Another referendum will be to the delight of roughly half the population, as long as it includes the choice of staying on the EU which it obviously must.
I honestly think that we will see large scale riots if another referendum is forced upon us. Whatever does happen, I completely agree. What a ****ing mess! What a ****ing useless bunch of self serving twats we have in Westminster.
If this government can't deliver an outcome both it and the opposition promised in their election manifestos why should anyone believe another referendum will produce a satisfactory resolution of an outcome politicians have actively done everything in their power to resist? It is the politicians who have f*cked this up royally, any trust in them is now totallygone...
False assumption. I am part of the half which voted remain and I don’t want one, but fear we will be pushed that way through the incompetence of both government and Parliament, and the attitude of the EU. I don’t believe it will resolve anything and if Remain is on the ballot it will justifiably infuriate many. That ship has sailed, that option smacks of entrapment. I just want as inclusive a Brexit as possible, one that a significant majority can just about tolerate.
Tusk has tweeted that the withdrawal agreement will not be renegotiated. Predictable. May will come back with less than Cameron did. She must be jacked for someone who believes in Brexit and will be hard nosed with the EU. If we go strong for no deal, the EU will come back to the table.
Oh dear, many will be infuriated! I'm one of the many infuriated by this whole Brexit mess, and best option for me will be if it is just cancelled, as the UK government can do as today's court decision, without asking voters again. But now everyone should have a better idea of the different, all economically inferior to Remain, Brexit options, it would be fair enough to have another Referendum. But there'd be f*** all point of having it if Remain isn't an option.
Look, I was a Remainer, but this isn’t only about economics by a long chalk. I strongly suspect that the inept show put on by the government and the EU over the last couple of years has hardened attitudes in many cases. We had a vote, I lost. We need an outcome which delivers control over migration (yes I know we are too **** to actually enforce control), means that we don’t automatically accept EU laws without debate here and allows the maximum realistic (I.e. worse than now) access to the biggest market in the world. The absolute last thing I want is to hear political twats from both sides lying to us for months on end again.
If it's not in The best interests of the country then I couldn't give a flying **** about democracy mate. Why anyone would want a no deal scenario totally baffles me. Negotiating new trade deals....we couldn't negotiate to save our lives!!!

To quote one of our numerous Brexit Secretaries, “If a democracy cannot change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy". I can see the logic behind excluding Remain from the options in a new referendum, but I think that would be wrong. According to recent polls, Remain has an 8-10 point lead and that's too big a lead to ignore, I would say. Now I know people will say that the polls got it wrong last time, but the 'shy Leave voter' factor is unlikely to be at play now. I would imagine that any Leave voters canvassed would be only too keen to say how they feel. There's nothing undemocratic in asking people to vote again now they know with much more clarity what Brexit would entail. Having said that, even I'm not sure I would want to go through the whole thing again. If Parliament got behind Norway Plus, I think I'd settle for that.
Would be interested to see those polls Stroller... I'd love to remain, and think it would be entirely justified if the public had clearly changed their mind and there was a clamour for remain among those who had voted leave. I just don't see any evidence of a change of mind, and think the spin against the EU over the last two years (which contrary to many, I think has been fairly transparent about its position throughout) will have pushed more to a leave position.
