England is one of the most populated countries on earth. What happens when the current young generation is old, when it will be say 5 tmes the size of the current old generation? Does it stop or do you invite in another multiple of five and pave over the country? How important do you think the environment is?
Prediction is that it's getting even worse this weekend. Macron has just thrown fuel on the flames by backing down.
All I hear is bad predictions/scenarios/forecasts for a no deal brexit. Seriously are there any positive ones anywhere? It wouldn't surprise me if the Tory leaders deal went through. Stranger things have happened. Sometimes a counter prediction/forecast might be a more reasoned approach then purely dismissing the negative ones as rubbish/scare mongering.
What difference does it make to the environment if a person is here or not? We aren’t one of the most populated or densely populated countries. Not even close https://simple.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population_density Some people will die, some people will leave but it’s vital to have as high as possible a share of the population of working age or the country logically would have to go backwards economically and we’d be a less appealing option for those healthy young, productive immigrants we need.
Quite a lot. The more people eating, drinking, sh22ing, driving, using power (phones/PC/washing machine/cooker/TV) and so on doesn't help the environment. That came from Blue Planet bloke (who's name slips me).
Sums it all up posted by steel on the review thread If you're leaving please still say goodbye? And if you are leaving can you leave me my silver jubilee mug? My old flag? My dark woods? My sunrise? If you’re leaving can you please say goodbye? And if you are leaving can you leave your number? I'll pack my case And get in the cab And wave you goodbye I'll drive in the early hours down to the sea I’ll stand on the beach where the storms amplify All the voices that I care for And the ghosts I hold sacred In this alignment that lasts for a day There's nothing that I can do anyway, anyway What am I doing here? Waiting for you? Eh, hey So rebuild the railways Firm up all the roads No one is leaving Now this is your home And the horses, the foxes, the sheep, and the cows Bow down on their knees To the fanfare of progress, it's always the same We cheer on the clowns as they roll into town But their faces look tired and sad to me And carry the terrible things they've seen All lost in a painting of a sky coloured oil In this Merrie Land You are my crows, my window rattlers Perfumed valley criers Oh the dark ponds of Merrie England The deep space echoes Get on your mo What did you say? Mobility (you can fly) Get on your mobilised hooters (to the moon) Hooters Mobilised Hooters (One day) Get hold of those mobilised hooters They are half price This is not rhetoric It comes from my heart I love this country Daneland, I am your kin You were the ones who work together Put the money in the pockets To the few and their fortunes Who crowd the school benches And jeer at us all 'cause they don't care about us They're graceless and you shouldn't be with them 'Cause they are all disconnected and raised up in mansions And two hundred plastic bags in a whale's stomach So you turn to the trident Are we green, are we pleasant? We're not either of those, Father We're a shaking wreck where nothing grows Lost in the sky coloured oils of Merrie Land You can fly to the moon One day
Density - If you look at my post I said England. That's where immigrants are settling. They don't want to go to the Scottish Highlands. Population levels have a huge effect on the environment. We're losing large numbers of species due in part to the intensification of agricultue. Look at infrastructure. We don't have it for 100 million people. Increasing it would conflict with the idea of using the countryside for recreation. Quality of life matters.
At the risk of being accused of being obsessed, the Orange One's ridiculous and pathetic trade war with China is looking like it might lead to another global recession. Markets are tanking, whilst Trump dismisses the threat of a potential future US debt crisis because he won't be there when it impacts. Still, mustn't grumble.
Tumpton's problems with China has caused the drops in the markets and agree I listened to some US bod yesterday who mentioned recession. No doubt you will probably get some blaming Brexit.
Haha, brilliant!. Just like the Tories blaming Labour for the collapse of global Capitalism in the bankers' crash?
