I think you missed today’s advisory ruling by the ECJ? Their advice is that the U.K. can unilaterally rescind A50; though this would still go to arbitration if we did so and were challenged by a member state, the court’s advice at this point is that such a decision by the U.K. would be upheld.
Because the right wing press, and you can include the current BBC set up in that, have spent every day of the last 3 years digging up every bit of dirt they can with which to smear Jeremy Corbyn - and come up with nada.
They almost certainly won't allow us to revoke A50 for a renegotiation. I strongly suspect it'll be a decision to hold a referendum that'll do it. Unthinkable six months ago but gaining momentum as the public has realised that they were told they were voting for a land of milk and honey when what they actually voted for was for the country to be poorer. Ah, the well-reasoned rantings of a man whose Twitter feed includes posts from him describing the rainbow flag as "Marxist" And, on another note: Vin
My Dad never paid CT in all the years he ran a company. His expenses always outweighed his profits so there was nothing illegal about it at all.
The whole matter was ****ed up the minute Cameron called a referendum in my view. While I was surprised the vote went to the leave camp as was everyone else. I did say at the time (Privately) while actually voting I thought the whole thing would prove to be a big pain as it has proved. Which ever way or what ever happens the UK is going to be a laughing stock.
No I didn't miss it. Quite clearly I showed it above. You stated we could revoke it to buy time. We can't We can cancel article 50. That is what was said. AS I typed it above We cannot cancel just to buy time which is what you have stated. If we cancel it has to be for good. If we want more time we have to extend article 50. That is what was stated with the "good faith" part. As you have stated above yourself. According to the EU AG's opinion We can cancel it. No-one can successfully oppose us cancelling it unless we are doing it solely to buy time. It has to be a cancellation with the intent of returning to where we were before. Quite strange really as it was Gina Millar's barrister that stated it was impossible to reverse article 50 when he was countering claims that she was trying to stop Brexit and no-one on either side seemed to question that statement to the point 2 years on it has had to be clarified by the EU AG giving his opinion.
Nothing to do with public realisation. Just the only fudge left from a house that on all sides bar a small portion of them have purely been fighting over which way not to enact the public vote. It isn't remain vs leave in there. The larger groups are purely fighting over which BRINO vs Remain option to go for while "respecting the referendum." I think first we should have a referendum on if we want a referendum. If we say No then they can spend another few months trying to tell the interviewers we didn;t know what type of referendum we were voting for before.................giving us a referendum anyway.
Don’t really care how much fudging is done. If it puts off and hopefully cancels Brexit it will be justified. If a referendum had been held in 2016 to throw the entire UK under a giant bus, and 52% had voted Yes, then Parliament would be justified in finding a way to wriggle out of it. This is why we have representative democracy in this country, not plebiscite rule. We would still have capital punishment otherwise.
with the increase in tax, the cost of diesel in France will be on line with what the British people have been paying for years. British people have been shafted for many years paying 60 per cent tax
scary first steps to a one nation EU May and the Brexiteers should be pumping out this video as a warning to where the EU wants to end up as
I use roads, I like lit and repaired roads, I call the police, I visit my doctor and the hospital, I pass through customs, I expect my food to be safe, I like being protected from foreign invaders, I'm looking forward to a pension, I expect criminals to spend time in prison, I like kids being educated. In return, I pay tax and I'm genuinely pretty happy doing so. Here's an idea of what we pay for: please log in to view this image Vin
Trust me you’re not alone in that view. I believe I posted it in here and was told off for doubting the intellect* of our population * on the grounds that I called myself of average intelligence and I didn’t understand all the ins and outs myself.
Scary stuff indeed but would need to see full and final text before I disagree with passion. The EU is going to determine much more of our affairs if we are not keeping awake.
Stop getting wound up by Impsaint! To quote himself "I am of the sort that likes to stoke the fires so I play the stereotype. While I am antiPC I am not as antiPC as I tend to appear due to me playing devil's advocate" While he has one hand on the keyboard every time you bite he has another hand ....
my fave quote from GHW Bush funeral: "I once heard it is said of man that the idea is to die young as late as possible."
What will happen in 10 years time when all cars will be electric? Lost revenue will be a big hole to fill. Just received my custom pedal assist electric trike with a seat at the back for my 2 kids so I can take them to school- it's a blast with top speed of 35 kmh
