To be fair, Margaret Thatcher damaged it pretty badly. We were just beginning to recover from being seen as terminally awkward, when along came David Cameron.

    Anyone seeing a pattern here?

Betfair odds on Brexit by 29th March. Pretty evenly split.

It means that Macron has folded at the first significant public opposition to his supposed reforming government. Whether that is good or bad depends on your point of view I suppose.

In the U.K. it’s us, the people, who tend to suck it up in those circumstances; rail fares up 3.6% on the back of record poor services.

The family company, of George Osborne (of which he has little connection, other than a few shares apparently) has only paid corporation tax once in ten years.
    That’s lucky.

Police watchdog saying a policeman should be charged for employing the new ramming tactic against a moped.

Anyone going to apologise to Abbot for saying she doesn't know what she's talking about?

We need to get tough with this behavior, not encourage it.
She's wrong & the PW are as pathetic as the human rights activists who protect murderers, rapists & the like.
The criminals do not need protecting, they need punishing.

That isn't my point but they need both.

Also it's in no way way pathetic to stand up for your beliefs against so much abuse as she gets.

I'd gladly run one down. I'd gladly stand out side of court in support of anyone charged with an offense against one. Same for people protecting their homes from burglars. We need to stand up for our beliefs sometimes, and let health and safety/justice committee/watch dogs chairs catch up.
I believe that. Sorry if it upsets anyone.

Let her tell it to a parent who has lost a child to a dangerous rider, who is trying to evade capture.

To get back on point I support a stronger stance against mopeds I just believe in democracy and people, especially MP's not being abused for stating their views.

So I respect somebody doing what Abbot did, even though im not sure i agree with her view, far more than the current populist bullshit.

You are entitled to that opinion, and while I don’t share it I respect it.

Personally I believe in the rule of law, and that no one is ever above the law. That was pretty much Dianne Abbott’s point, and she got absolute dog’s abuse for saying it.

In fact that’s how democracy is supposed to work - people respecting a variety of opinions, and being free to express their own.

showing weakness to the French masses is a really bad mistake, the French have a bad rep as it is for striking and protesting. Future protesters may feel emboldened to use force to make Macron back down, or Macron may feel that he has to crush all future protests

First time in the history of our parliamentary system that a government has been found guilty of holding Parliament in contempt. They now have to publish the legal advice on the Draft Agreement which they had previously promised to do, but have since refused.

May’s grip on power beginning to slip in a big way. They need to go, despicable bunch of clowns.
