CARLO ANCELOTTI wants to make a quick return to management in the Premier League – and has set up camp in London as he waits for the call.

The former Chelsea chief is still in love with the English game – and the capital – and has told pals he is desperate to get a job fast as the ‘sacking season’ looms.

Ancelotti did a big job at Stamford Bridge and was given the boot despite the kind of success that many major clubs – and rivals – would love to have on their CV.

The genial Italian has turned his back on a return home and told pals that he is expecting to get the nod for one of the big posts in the Premier League that may come up soon.

Ancelotti is ideally placed because prospective employers would not have to fork out millions in compensation in appointing him – and he has vast experience in European football under his belt.

Arsenal chief Arsene Wenger is under the cosh after a poor start and the loss of his star players, while Harry Redknapp’s position at Tottenham is not so secure following a bad transfer window.

At 52, the former AC Milan player and manager could fit the bill at both the Emirates and White Hart Lane, although both clubs could also go down the route of appointing a younger boss for their long-term plans.

Ancelotti could get work in Italy or anywhere else in Europe, but he enjoyed the spirit and atmosphere in England, and friends reveal that he is also very fond of the ‘social’ side of London.

And, crucially, the fans would be happy with such a popular appointment. Ancelotti is admired for his honesty after matches.

He would also have a ready-made staff of ex-backroom men to call on if a post came up. More than anything, he has told chums that he is ‘revved up’ for the chance to prove Chelsea made a big mistake in letting him go after just two seasons in charge.

Don Carlo, didn't get his part in the Soprano's, made his way back to footy.

I think he'll have his choice of spurs and arsenal but not till the end of the season.

Spurs will finish 6th but will be on lookout for a new manager when Harry takes over Fabio in the England hotseat.

Arsenal will finish 5th and Wenger will "step aside"
