Britain's a **** country to start up a new political party. The electoral system just doesn't allow new parties much success. Look at Ukip. Hugely popular a few years ago but could one get one MP elected. That's not to say they can't have an influence, of course. If you're a loud-mouthed, right-wing imbecile then you're all but guaranteed a seat on Question Time. So there's hope for you yet Mon.
Didn't UKIP get more votes than the SNP yet SNP got dozens of seats?
FPTP is a ******ed system, but hey, that's blighty fur ye.

British democracy for ya.

ER to confirm.

I honestly don't know what they think they could have done that was better. The idea we could just walk away and have the EU come begging to us for a deal was the stuff of dreams. It was actually deceit on a monumental scale and it disgusts me that they will get away with it.

How ya diddlin' Dan?

Sadly though, we are always deceived on monumental scales by all politicians of all persuasions, we may as well not vote on anything because they all lie to us anyway.

Not bad ER - hope all is well with you <cheers>

I think this is one of the worst examples of deceit I've seen though - they're all either completely ignorant of EU and UK law or have been promising something they knew damn well couldn't be delivered without economic collapse..

Labour have played a blinder by all accounts
If Corbyn suddenly dies you'll know they're ramping up for a general election very quickly. I still don't think they'd win with him in charge - someone else and then we're talking.

Wrong thread Dan you thick ****ing Nazi.
They didn't know what they were voting for

so the chookters can bottle it again

If you listen to all the SNPers you'd think independence is a stick-on and all because ONE poll suggested Yes would have a tiny lead in the event of a WORST CASE scenario of a no-deal Brexit.

Nearly every other poll in the past 18 months has Yes on 40-43% and never in the lead. Given that Sturgeon said in 2016 she would call a referendum when Yes showed a consistent lead in the polls it's actually been a monumental failure on her part that she's not moved the dial even an inch. But to say that publicly would have you tarred and feathered by the SNPers.
