For me wellens spends too much time passing sideways, is very reluctant to shoot more than twice a season, and dives too much, very very infuriating and frustrating player...............

Other than that Wellens is the most creative midfielder in the division, no doubt.
Lallana will go on to great things, he's top class.
No doubt wellens is a decent player, but by the sounds of it, alot of you seem to be getting annoyed with his work ethic. I'd take andy king as your powerhouse midfielder any day!
King is a passenger till he gets a yard of space in the box. He seriously does **** all until he gets given a golden opportunity to score.
Wellens is our midfield engine and does all the work, passing and shouting.
He's class.
I don't think Nolan is creative. He is more like an Andy King and is a midfielder who will get you 10-15 goals a season. The other players you have named are wingers so will naturally be more creative. In terms of centre-mids, I think Wellens is up there with the best. I'm not just talking about creativity now, but Wellens can do a bit of everything. He can pass, he can tackle, he can shoot and he's a leader on the pitch - he reminds me a bit of Scholes towards his latter years (obviously not with the same talent levels). I don't think Wellens is THE best (I feel he can be a bit more intelligent on when to make that defence-splitting pass and when to just playing simple and keep the ball moving and keep us in possession - although he has got better at that recently) but he is certainly up there.
As for stats showing creativity, I think you'd agree that Luka Modric is one of the most creative players in the Premier League but he was way down in terms of assists last season. What Richie does is he starts our attacks by picking the right ball to put our wingers or our more advanced midfielders in the right position to provide an assist and that often goes un-noticed.
