Do you think we have got our 20 goal a season striker in Beckford? I don't. I think he'll get around 15 or so, and i think nugent Will as well. I know a lot of fans were crying out for someone to bag 20+ goals this season. I just don't think it'll happen, but i still think we'll go up.
We still have the problem of no service which hasn't been solved. Though he created the first goal against Southampton, King flatters to decieve as an attacking, creative player far too often. He's quick, has good passing and vision, as well as close control, but he rarely takes the game by the scruff of the neck and stretches their defence. I've said it before but since we have no wingers, we really need players like him and Danns to run at defences, take people on and create chances. Then our strikers will prosper. I expect Beckford to get 15 plus, but with better service he could have 25. After 10 games there won't be any excuses about 'gelling', so then we will see how good we are at creating chances and then we can judge how our strikers should do.
Beckford is already my favorite player. Leicester fans how long has it been since we had the chance to have a best player after previous attempts to form this side? But after everything we've been through we have found ourselves with tvs at the kps! BLUE ARMY, **** CHELSEA
My guess would be that Beckford gets about 17, Nugent gets about 14, King about 10, Vassel and Fernandez about 8 each and the rest could come from any number of first teamers and subs. Do you remember the days when you looked at the team (under Rob Kelly I believe) and you couldn't work out for the life of you where the goals would come from? Now I wondering who WON'T score for us this season. My money's on Kasper, since he's so s***. Or so the Leeds fans say.
Spot on Despite all the summer signings, I'm still quite disappointed that we haven't got a decent winger in. Gutted the news on Kebe joining us turned out to be a bag of ****e.
Beckford for me was a nice surprise. I was on my hols watching BBC news´s football focus with that ram **** salvage & the presenter was talking about the posible transfers & when he mentioned LCFC & JB in the same sentence my eyes opened wide. Maynard would of been a top signing but I can´t help but think that JB will be a better one. I was always hoping we would get the Yak tbh but it never happend & he went to BRFC, wish you well, but I think JB will do the same job as the Yak would, so yeah happy with this signing. It also gives the teams that plague this board more ammo to try & WUM us with there "you´re buying the npower" poo. JEALOUS ****S I´m just hoping our DEF starts to gel & SGE starts to find his best 11 so our football can settle down & be more consistant because if they happen we will walk promotion. "COME ON LEICESTER, COME ON LEICESTER"
I can't believe we went after other targets when Beckford was available - I'd have him over the names we were linked with every time - Beckford is without doubt a 20 goal a season striker in this league
"He failed in a last-ditch record £8million bid for Celtic striker Gary Hooper – after offering half that figure at the start of the summer. And El-Hadji Diouf is still a target after the controversial striker was shown the door by Blackburn last week" from the people!
Nothing like getting carried away...I don't care if beckford don't score, as long as we go up...obviously he will but we win as a TEAM and lose as TEAM ,hope he remembers that..This should be the most productive part of his career...but it will take a bit of time...
I think Beckford is a better signing than either Maynard or the Yak. The Yak scored a lot of goals in a free scoring team last season but I wonder whether he would do that in a more solid but less attacking set up like we have now? Maynard may be great but until he tries himself at a higher level then we just won't know. Beckford has scored plenty of goals in League One which is probably more similar to the Championship than the Championship is to the Premier League. He has also scored goals in the Premier League. He wasn't first choice at Everton but any striker who scores 10 goals from the bench in a season has done ok.
Wellens finished 21st last season for his creativeness and this season so far is 23rd. So clearly wrong there arnt we?
You don't judge a Creative player by stats. You name me a better creative midfielder then Wellens then
Kevin Nolan, adam lallana, Robert Snodgrass, jimmy kebe. And yes you do base a player on stats, when you create a goal scoring opportunity, and the player scores from this, then thats what seperates you from players like Lampard, Fabregas to players like Keith Southern, Paul Green. I'm not arguing, im just saying your clearly deluded if you think wellens is the best creative midfielder in the league
