Nick Harris @sportingintel Premier League footballers will miss Richard Scudamore. In his tenure, average annual player pay has risen from £400,000 a year to £2.6m, which, coincidentally, is the same figure he now earns in the executive chairman post he is quitting. Nick Harris @sportingintel Scudamore more than anyone turned Premier League into a global phenom. The PL made £25m a year from all foreign rights combined when he took over. That's now £1.1 BILLION a year and rising. Because of his sales strategy. And yes, he's fed up of big club greed.
the fella was a **** who's done nothing good for the game or fans that go to watch.....he was only interested in 1 thing and that was money.
Thought you meant the jockey for a moment. We once did an episode of Riders together. Shared a car with him I did.
I think he is a pretty switched on guy, whether you like it or not, and I don't, he certainly has driven the PL forward as a global business. Interesting he is saying he is going now, maybe he feels that the gravy train is finally coming to an end.
I quite liked him, he was impressive operator in person and he thought Assem was bonkers, which was reassuring for us back in the CTWD days.
Glad he's gone, he has led the destruction of all that is good about the game in this country, and disadvantaged 85 clubs for the financial interests of the other 7. The national team is weaker not stronger, and the whims of a generation of passive armchair turds take precedence of the people who actually attend games. Good riddance to the ****.
I might chuck a couple of bob in myself to such a worthy cause. All 20 Premier League clubs have been asked for a £250,000 contribution so that the league's outgoing executive chairman Richard Scudamore can be given a £5m farewell gift. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46197761
What the **** will he spend it on the greedy ****? A Breville 4-up dual control deluxe limited edition toaster in every room? What a mangina.
Times are hard when you've only been earning a £2.5 million a year salary and a paltry pension. He'll probably be applying for Universal Credit.
here's his replacement. bound to be on the same salary. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46200473
Circa 1999. Scudamore to TV rights bidders: "I'm looking long term, say 19 years. What you lot wanna collectively bid ?" TV companies in unison: "How about current deal compounded annually at 3 % ?" Scudamore: "Piss off !". TV bidding reps: " Oops. Meant to say 11.3 % compounded annually for 19 years". Scudamore: "That's better. Done." How hard can the job be ? And he wants Big Ben as a retirement present !!! edit: Not you Sir Cheshire. The phallic symbol hanging around Westminster I mean.
Seems as if Scud as hit skid row.....I mean each Prem club is been asked to stump up £250k each to help him out...Poor bastard....I've got a cardboard box he can have.
The company i worked at went bust and I will receive 1weeks pay off from the government which is capped Greedy ****s, the lot of em.
Is the cardboard box in good condition? Does it have metal staples? I can collect providing I've fixed the front wheel on my asda trolley
Sadly I've had to loan it to Sir Philip Green who is now on the bones of his arse, now that's he had to pay out £350m he took from the BHS pension pot (allegedly)
Incredibly, there seem to be a few football fans that think the ****'s done a good job. I can only assume they're relatively new to football or at least post Euro 96ers.
