We will be relegated. It's as simple as that. Hughes should never have been given the job. He didn't keep us up, Swansea simply imploded. The summer signings have been dross. I can't think of a single player we have who would walk into a top 10 side.

The board aren't going to do **** all though, they'll pin their hopes on Huddersfield, Newcastle and Cardiff being worse.

I've never felt so bored, flat and unconnected to a Saints side.

Until we appoint another manager not up for the Prem

Yeah, and it will be up to Les/Ralph to explain to Gao why he's spending X million more to sack Hughes now instead of for nothing in the summer. I thought one/both of the top two would go last summer, but they didn't and I'd rather look at that in a more stable time. And I've been Hughes Out before we even signed him.

In other words when some replacements are lined up and the time is right, it will probably all happen.

Ings is the only player I rated from the signings from past 2 seasons.

Why? We're not even in the relegation zone. Do you think Newcastle, Cardiff, Huddersfield, Fulham fans are bouncing around their living rooms, fully expecting to jump above us?

You might not like Hughes. You might not like our players. You might not like our board. But only three sides get relegated. You can't nail us down to one of those three places in October, when we don't even occupy them.

I said that this was the acid test and we failed it miserably. We have sort of solved the defensive situation and regressed on the purposeful attacking play. Today was as near to a Pellegrino performance as we have come this season and that worries me greatly.
I feared the worst when I saw Romeu come in for Pierre in the middle, the former and Lemina just do not click as a pair and we never dominate as we should at home against lesser teams with them together, and also seeing Chaz and Mo El starting.
It is now obvious how much we rely on Pierre and i'm coming to appreciate how much Dusan gave us creatively as well and the rest of the offensive players look desperately short of confidence or are just not good enough, bar Redders.
I've always maintained that with the right management we could return to the top ten but i'm starting to seriously question the quality of the squad now.

Just seen the score, 0-0 at home to Newcastle ffs <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

We are utter ****

You won’t see a worse game of football this season. Freezing ****ing cold too.

At least we kept a clean sheet. Obviously that’s because Newcastle are absolutely bloody useless, but still.

I feel privileged to have borne witness to such an atrocious sporting spectacle. It really was ****ing dire, but I enjoyed it in a perverse way. That level of piss poor entertainment should actually be relished for it’s unrelenting crapiness.

Under the current set up I very much can. I cannot see where a single win will come from under Hughes. We're not there yet because we've had a fairly easy run. After we lose to Fulham and City we'll be bottom 3 and will stay there

Other than having your judgement clouded by being a Saints fan, by seeing our ineptitude on a much more regular basis than that of others, I don't know why you would be so quick to assume we will lose to Fulham. Or wouldn't be able to overtake them again, if we did.

Did you see Newcastle today? They were worse than us. Newcastle fans should be walking away from the game today a lot more worried than us. They barely did anything. And they are below us in the table. Just like Fulham are. (You know, that Fulham team who have just been thrashed at home 3-0 by a side who couldn't beat us last week.)

I'm absolutely not defending us as a squad. We are very poor. But we're not the only one. If being very poor was in itself enough to get you relegated, we'd have gone down last year. Hell, we deserved to.

I got up for 8am, on my weekend off to watch that crap! The problem is, I will probably keep doing it!!

I can't actually remember the last time I watched us play, or even the highlights. Maybe the Brighton game? Think that is the only game I've watched all season
