really? argentina squad is the worst ive seen it for years, they have a great strike force midfield is rubbish and so is defence.

i can do this all day.

simple facts are messi is rated as the greatest player of the modern era and may even surpass maradona by the time he retires, i really don't think he is that concerned about what some random guy on the internet thinks he has picked up 4 trophies in the past 3 months alone along with world player of the year, spanish player of the year, champs lge top scorer, champs lge best player etc etc
 
But I'm not saying Rooney is the greatest player, or Messi. I would give it to Ronaldo for his ability to do stuff on his own EVERY GAME and his amazing set-piece taking.

You may disagree, but that is me. But if Messi was the greatest, then he would do it on his own, but he doesn't.

Ronaldo hasn't led his country to success, but he has made the best attempt in recent years.

Ronaldo is worse than messi for his country. He likes to try and dribble past 6 germans/spainards and bang the ball in the top corner! Shame it never works and he just gives away possesion every time!

Messi is vastly over rated.

only won:

5 league titles
1 spanish cup
5 super cups
3 european cups ( amazingly as many as man utd in their history)
2 super cups
1 fifa club world cup

only 17 trophies for a player who is 24 years old, shameful

he also has only just over 200 career goals and that even took him over 300 games to get.

internationaly he has only won an olympic medal and under 20 world cup

and his record this season for argentina is 2 goals and 7 assists in 8 games that only just above being directly involved in 1 goal a game

5 times in the past 6 years rated best argentinian


looks lime he has started this season off poor aswell only 6 goals and 4 assists in his 4 appearances, obivously this was against poor oposition = r madrid (twice) porto (europa lge winners). i doubt he will get anywhere near 70 goals which he needs to be considered good.

maybe he should retire?

Rated the best player of the modern era? HA! Thats a good one! Scoring goals in spain for barca/real is like scoring goals in scotland for rangers/celtic.

LOl statistics and football = fail!

Messi is one of the best players in the world. He is even an all time great, but to proclaim him the best ever is laughable.

So we are now using goals in the champions league as the measure of greatness? Someone give ruud van nistlerooy and Inzaghi a call because they just became 2 of the greatest players ever!
