Carra making a good point to counter G Nev's statement that our front 3 can't handle the leage and CL.

We got to the final last year and our front 3 were firing more than they are now in the league.

Right ladies and gentlemen, or wishi and the rest, I rather enjoyed the match. I thought the quality of both teams was clear to see.

I may be thinking about this differently but beating man city should not be the highlight of our league season. That is evertons league thinking(we may be 15th but at least we beat Liverpool)

Get through the game, get through the period and start racking up the points. Our continued issue has been beating the top six and the losing to Southampton the next match.

On the game itself I thought henderson and lovren, (who ever I read earlier predicted a 3-1 loss just on his inclusion should hang their head in shame) where very good.

The referee which is a subject I do not often comment about was less than fair to put it mildy.

Fernadino should have seen red early second half. If not a straight red for the forearm into mane.

Itwas a good match the defence came out on top. I have no complaints about any players.

My biggest issue is yet again we look leggy, I feel the entire Liverpool squad should come down with the flu during the international break.

They are obviously in need of a rest

Woukdnt say dreadful. A game where defences played better than the forwards that’s all.
Yep totally agree
But i actually appreciate good defensive work, always have think that sometimes lost or not preferred on here.
I have no issue with a couple of the city players playing smart, its what pros do, the ref is there to stop it and he did not.
Like i say really enjoyed that and the Chelsea game for different reasons. We have put ourselves in a good position, no more no less but starting to believe in our defence which i have not done for a while now :)

Looking at that forearm smash to Mane on Sky, straight red all day long. Sourness said a red in a rugby match and he should know

Am happy with a point tbh - thought we’d lost it at the end!

We’ve got to the international break and are joint top, while not playing that well. We still have to improve a lot to continue challenging but we’ve kept ourselves in the hunt!

I’d like to see the fluidity return to our play after the break. The pressing, the passing, the one twos around the box....we’ve not had any of this for a few games now.....

And yet we’re still there

I know i'm in a small minority here but i thought Henderson was one of the better MF's on the pitch (B Silva was my pick for best) as he put in a number of decisive defensive tackles but also played a number of good forward balls .
Still don't get the Gomez swap though i thought he grew into the role as the game went on.
Salah whilst finishing still well off looked lively.
Having said all that i stand by my quick half time post that both teams more interested in stopping each over than what they can do.

Do i get to put a ffs here :)

Right... we were not great in midfield but...

Well we have ploughed our way through spurs, Chelsea and city and are still unbeaten.

That's not bad.

1-2-0 record thus far in mini league yeah?

We have to improve and make some chances for the front 3... but that's not too bad if we take the next few sides apart.

TAA wasn’t at his best mid week and hasn’t been brilliant all season. Still only young as well, needed s break and Lovren was very very good today I thought

my problem wasn't Lovren but rather that imo TAA offers a bigger threat going forward than Gomez and as i said before the game their LB area was one we could target.
