Exactly this. He is someone to use in rotation from time to time, but as someone to come on late in games. No need to change anything.
I agree. No need to try and shoe-horn him into the starting line-up. Bring him on at the hour mark perhaps, if things need shaking up.
Cup games and CL group games where we don't need points. Seriously though, we don't owe him or anything it's down to him to keep fit and keep scoring. If he does then as a team we may win something.
True but he has as many goals as all the other front 3 so far this season and we’ve all just said that the front 3 aren’t working well so far this season for what ever reason. Why not change things... surely just because on paper that’s our best 3 doesn’t mean you can’t deop players out of form or bring players in who are in form
It is working though, it's the best start to the season in forever. Maybe some would like to go back to 4-3 every game, it's certainly exciting?
Messing with it could go the opposite way and the balance of the team could affect results. Not broken don't fix it. IMO.
He has but creativity in a forward role is different to a AM role. Not wanting to push players into a single position but Bobby IS a F9
Not a bad result in the circumstances. We could have won but it was a top rival for the title so we ought to be satisfied with staying ahead of Chelsea and also being joint top. Mind you, City’s GD is looking ominous, Lessons so far this season: anyone coming ahead of City will be champions. LFC are a match to any of the rivals for the title. Our defence is very much improved and can sustain pressure from a top team Firmino is more important to our fortunes than Salah.
Tbh it is one of those weird quirks of football If we had been Chelsea in so far as we were winning most of the game and conceded with two to go we would have all been bombed out If you are going to draw do it how we did it where we are the team that fought back and grabbed dramatic equaliser Will help confidence as opposed to leaving us deflated Today was a good result and the performance was good Nice
Like Wednesday, I thought it was a good game between two teams who are very close in quality. Stamford Bridge is a notoriously hard place to go to and many decent teams have been known to fold when going 1-0 down in the first half but we managed to kick on from it which is a positive sign. I think what we're seeing now is a very well balanced team from back to front, Klopp is very close to finding the formula it's just unfortunate that we're entering an era where this city team look set to dominate.
Another game where we should have won. A point away at Stamford Bridge is still very good but it shows how far we’ve come where we deserve 3 points in every game this season. Whilst the attack is still not clicking, there are a lot of positives. Salah will receive most of the criticism but he’s still the main outlet for us. He gets into the box and in the right positions. It’s just the end product which isn’t there. Once he went off, we struggled to get in the box. I really hate this midfield. It’s not gonna win us anything. If he’s hell bent on starting Hendo, then switch him and Gini. Gini had a good game and has been our best midfielder this season by a distance. Milner clearly running out of steam and he needs a rest. Full backs were really tested yesterday - Robbo had a poor first half but got better. Our centre backs are brilliant - there was one moment when Willian was through and both Gomez and VVD caught up with him. Glad to see get the captains armband - he’s the real leader of this team and it’s only a matter of time when he gets the captaincy full time. And whilst Alisson could have done better with the goal, he kept us in the match. He made big saves and bailed out Gini. Really hope we go back to the Gini Keita Milner midfield soon because it works and has a good balance. We still haven’t conceded a goal when Henderson isn’t on the pitch.
There will be gaps albeit short lived during that period of dominance that we need to take advantage of. We simply cannot let any opportunities slip.
it's the same old problem in most, if not all teams sadly, cant drop the captain. yes we could have won it jimmy, but we also could easily have lost, draw a fair result, and if chelsea had of won same as us, it wouldn't really have been fair on other. great game to watch, just a shame all matches aren't as exciting.
I think the draw is fair but we still should have beaten them IMO. Either way, great game. Also - i forgot to even mention sturridges goal. World class. He can play a huge role as an impact sub / back up striker for us. And I think he’s not accepting that fact. Whilst the loan to WBA was a disaster for him, it may have actually helped him appreciate what he has at LFC.
