Slightly off topic-ish. Came home on tube on my own, but with a QPR fan I didn't know and a father (50) and son (20ish).
The Millwall father was giving it large and loud about how we were lucky, how we had got away with one, how we had lino and ref in our pocket,
The R fan stated quietly thathe thought Eze was taken down so the ref was no homer. He was subjected to a barrage of derogatory statements. Millwall got rid of Eze because he was lazy and a diver.

The R fan muttered "yeah absolutely right!" and scampered off the train. Leaving me to listen to the derogratory and offensive language of QPR and their fans
Great advertisment for Millwall and unfortunately football in general.

No I did not take him on ... I am daft but not stupid

The thing I really enjoyed about the game was our first half pass and movement - something we’ve not done that well for a number of seasons now. It was a joy to watch.
The second half we pulled back, and of course ended up defending. I also felt we tried to be a little too clever with the ball, rather than the simple but highly effective pass and move of the first half.
What the second half did show us was the improvement in our defensive roles; with people dropping back to help out. And so another clean sheet.
Eze impressed me, he has some nimble feet and likes taking people on. I hope he stays and improves with us. I wasn’t sure when we signed Rangel, but I am now - he impressed me too. Wells works hard for the team and deserves a few goals - I’m sure they will come.
I’m liking the direction we seem to be going in and well done to the players and management for picking themselves up from the floor and pulling it together. Still some improvement to come I feel, which is a big positive.
Still two more games before report-time.

Come on Aaaaaaagh. As any pundit will tell you players who feel the brush of air from a butterfly’s wing as it beats in Patagonia have a perfect ‘right’ to collapse as if shot from the grassy knoll. Natural justice, innit?

I’m off to see some proper professional ice hockey in a few weeks, it will be a refreshing change from drama school.

Beth Millwall fans are all the same. They thrive on their reputation but at the end of the day are a crap small club. If QPR play badly I will be the first to admit it. However, we outplayed them in the first half and after the first 20 mins of the second half should have put at least another 1-2 goals past them. We were comfortable winners and every pundit/paper/commentator has said the same.

With the Eze non penalty, the best way I've seen it described elsewhere was to think of it as a tap tackle in Rugby........you know the situation where a player is haring away and a defender dives after him in the hope of catching a trailing foot and hitting it against the other foot thus bringing him to the ground, there is always a time delay from the moment of impact until the time of fall, that's what seemed to happen with Eze, the Millwall defender caught his trailing leg and knocked it against his other leg thus bringing him down. I would guess that it was the time delay that convinced the Ref that he had dived.......oh for VAR!!!!!

I think you may reconsider your attack on Eze when you watch it back.
It was one of those where the attacker cuts across the defender and the defender accidentally trips him as their legs meet. There is a lot of contact and easily enough to bring him down. The defender in question was shown immediately afterwards holding his head and fearing the worst.
Eze was kicked all night long and it was the only way the Millwall players could deal with him. This, however, was accidental but 100% a foul.
Not sure why you feel the need to attack Eze so much after such a great display by the youngster. Even if he had dived, surely he needs our support at such a young age.

Agree with Col here, in that it was a def penalty. The Millwall player clipped him. I also thought they were lucky in the first half with the handball. I have seen pens given for less (Derry/Hill).
 
All I can say is that from my seat in the Ellerslie the way Eze went to ground looked completely unnatural and almost against the laws of physics. And this was immediately after s blatant dive a minute or so earlier. I realise I'm asking a lot these days and he would probably got fined a weeks wages had he not gone down when clipped in the box. Call me old fashioned....

Possibly from that view but I agree with Ollie. Banged on pen every time. The rear angle camera is the slam dunk. Their man knocked Eze's trailing foot that clattered with his other leg and made him go down. he might have been able to stay up but that is a pen everyday imo. I'm just glad to be discussing it in the context of a win rather than a win we were denied by a penalty not given.

QPR turned in their best performance of the season so far to comfortably see off a dire Millwall side 2-0 at Loftus Road on Wednesday night.

Nothing fragile about this one. This was proper. Queens Park Rangers, back in a 4-2-3-1 set up and looking slick. Millwall, barely above park standard in the first half, with few ideas what to do about it. Ebere Eze channelling Adel Taarabt against the club that released him as a junior. Nahki Wells a suave and elegant line leader. It was a lovely way to spend a September evening.

I sit in R Block and it looked like a dive but TV pictures clearly show otherwise and I was relieved to see it was a pen and not a dive.

How many games did Eze play under Hollow? (genuine question). Regarding Hollow V a football manager we can discuss another time. :emoticon-0148-yes:

He loaned him to Wycombe August to January where he played 22 games and scored 5 goals. When he returned to us he played 17* games and scored twice.

*( 8 started, 8 as a sub and a sub in an FA Cup game against MK Dons )
