To be honest if I was Barton I would be grateful to still be allowed to do the job I love, and would feel a huge debt to Newcastle (which he has said he feels hen does).

bartons contract has another year to go, so still enough time to offer him one/or turn it down.
like many have said i hope barton does sign a new contract, we gave him his chance back into football and his form last season and this season has had him mentioned as a possible for the england squad next week.

I assume the club got distracted over the last few days due to some 'business'.

eerrrr sorry Gyan but when the whole of football said he should be sacked, and sent packing, NUFC refused to buckle and stuck by him when he was in prison etc. When he made his comeback he was warmly received by the majority. No other club would have stuck by him like that. It's lucky for Barton that our owner doesn't give a f*** what anyone thinks.......including us!
