Have you ever been in Vowles' Hardware shop in Patrington (or 'Pat' as the locals know it) ?

Some years ago I had reason to call in there and thought I'd found myself in the Two Ronnies 'Fork 'andles' sketch, with the local beswicks listing their requirements from the Ronnie Corbett figure of Mr Vowles.

It's not all 'fur coat and no knickers' in the ER, there is also a contingent of hayseed folk and cud chewers, God bless' em.

'Pat' by the way is like Vegas compared to Ottringham, Skeffling etc
 
I really don't get the posh bashing....

You have a go at people from the East Riding for looking down on people from Hull, yet this thread is full of people from Hull bashing the East Riding. Double standards?

Lived in Swanland for most of my life now live in Hale, Cheshire. I don't care where anyone is from, I judge people on their actions not their up bringing or where they are from.

Don't know. It is closer to Hull than where I live.
