Had a look at ja because of that and here is an extract from an article by Spurcat who went to see the Spurs youth team beat Milan 7 - 1:

I am of course talking about Souleymane Coulibaly who was outstanding today and thoroughly deserved his two goals. We havn't really had much late drama have we, certainly not in terms of players coming in. There were the silly rumors of Kaka about an hour ago but apart from that it's only players leaving that has kept the news rolling through regarding Spurs. I kinda miss the late shocking drama really, makes me sad :(
 
This transfer window we sell about £30 million of deadwood, save about £300,000 on wages a week and spend £5 million.
Spurs looks like its being run by a greedy bunch of Fat Cats.
 
The getting rid of deadwood is wholly appreciated.

The negligence in bringing in the 'two or three' players required to turn us in a proper, title challenging team is not.

So.....

everyone still happy with Anybuyer, FREEdel and now Underpar-ker as the players to get us into the top four this season?

Or was this window just a sick joke that no-one let me in on?
 
harry going to bed early probably. Think its a bit harsh to call this window a sick joke, Parker was footballer of the year and only bought for 5 mill and Adebayor will be a great addition. Disappointed however we failed to buy a quality center back
 
Not getting Cahill is seriously annoying, especially as we must have over £15 million to spend as surely Harry and Levy were fully on top of the fee negotiations for Crouch, Palacios, and Hutton and were thus aware that the funds for such a move would be available. No so bothered about the lack of a new striker, though perhaps that is the more pressing issue.

I can see us going in for Cahill again in January and perhaps getting Leandro Damiao then as well, as apparently the main falling block for that deal was that Inter wanted him for the rest of their season. I guess it's probably too early to be talking about January signings, but being left with only 3 senior strikers when we have to compete in 4 competitions is a bit worrying, considering that it would be just our luck to get a few injuries in that position. But hey, we got Parker, and surely our defence can only get better with the (hopeful) return to form of Dawson and the return from injury of King and Gallas. Plus we've trimmed some of the fat from the squad so I guess that's a positive.

you forget sandro is coming backk too so i expect are defence to get much better but not getting cahill was seriously annoying. Something tells me we're saving for the stadium

We bought the best player in a relegated team...

Loaned in a striker from one of the teams we should be competing with (how many other of the top teams do that I wonder?) who is well known for his pet lip.

And a keeper who doesn't have a best before date because they were invented after he was born, but who has managed to let in a staggering EIGHT goals in two games (against two top teams admittedly, who we concede 3 goals to in our four league meetings last year)

So I contend, we haven't strengthened, we've gone massively backwards and will be EXTREMELY lucky if we are not in the relegation places come Christmas.

Plus, whilst we let go of deadwood admittedly, look at what we have left...

FREEdel - whoop de doo
Gomes - will have no confidence now he's been dropped from the league team, and can't even get on the bench in a European game
Cudicini - a very good THIRD choice keeper

Walker - ill at OT (nerves? or not up to the limelight?), now injured
Dawson - 8 goals in two games, no confidence in his current playing defensive partners
Kaboul - NOT a centre half
Bassong - only still with us because Cahill fell through, and now he knows it
Benny - still a positive despite all thats going on around him
Charlie - his slow turn of speed is starting to show
Gallas - mystery injury (Woodgate Mk 2)
King - fantastic when playing, which is 10 games a season, unfortunately
Rose - injured, and a fringe player at best

Bale - a shadow of his 2010 self
VDV - still too petulant, and undroppable, which when he's off form is bad news
Modric - turned head, turned a fair few stomachs, will be ****e this season
Lennon - where the f**k is the final ball he was supposedly developing?
Hudd - immobile, awful in the tackle, wayward with passes now too
Peanut - injured, for more games than he plays in it seems
Sandro - injured, but for how much longer 2 weeks or two months???
Livermore - out of his depth against the top teams
GDS - or as 'Arry calls him, who?
Failque - or as Spurs fans call him, who?
Townsend - out of his depth
Underpar-ker - our new midfield engine, supposedly, but not quite good enough IMHO

Pav - doesn't want to be here, not rated by 'Arry
Defoe - poor return since his return from injury, still can't work out the offside rule
Anybuyer - when he's good he's supposedly very very good, which is why people keep selling him.

It's amazing. All Spurs fans bleated on about last season was excess squad players taking up the wage bill and stopping youngsters getting chances. We've gone from too many useless strikers to not enough, despite the fact we're trying to give Kane opportunities.

Getting rid of Jenas, Hutton, Bentley, Keane and Crouch who every Spurs fan said served no use except to take up a squad space, we've got a new striker who was good enough to play regularly Real Madrid last season, a goalkeeper that doesn't scare us all ****less and we now have united last season's player of the year winners. I must admit I was lukewarm about our dealings at first but I've got to say that's a damned good effort from Levy and co. Cahill would've been nice but we can pick him up for half in January anyway.
 
I think it's been a steady transfer window, but perhaps we just need take stock and move on. If we can get Cahill and another good striker in January (I know I keep banging on about Damiao) and then make the loan moves for Jenas and Bentley permanent then we could be in good shape. If we get Cahill we could offload Bassong as well which would be a plus. It's probably too early to be talking about January transfers yet though tbh. We need to see how our current squad copes with playing in 4 competitions, if indeed we are still in all 4 by January, an then make choices about who exactly we need to try and sign.
 
Blaming Friedel for all the goals we have conceded is unfair - the defence and lack of cover from midfield is to blame...

Big shame we didn't get Cahill but the biggest losers will be bolton when he walks for half price/free

Crouch leaving is no big deal to me - it will stop us playing hoof ball and Adebayor is miles better in the air anyway...

Oh, so blaming the goalkeepr for us conceding goals is unfair, its the defence and midfields fault... ok, assuming I agree with that why did we not strengthen in those areas then?

Parker is not strengthening, being the best player in a woeful team isn't evidence of greatness, he still led them to relegation. He's not excatly young, not exactly speedy, and not exactly what we needed, Diarra would've been much better as would any other number of players to be honest.

Adebayor will be a failure, and even if he isn't one knock, one injury and thats it - no-one else to replace him, no plan B.

Not getting Cahill, well we tried didn't we. Only problem is we FAILED, every team that gets relegated tries not to, but they FAIL - and thats what we've been in this window, failures. Failed to land our no. 1 defensive target, then failed to have a back-up plan.

Couple this with the observations of one of the most respected posters on seeing him play Spurs youth team and I would like to see him play. Greaves remember was up and running at sixteen it's about time we had another youngster bursting through. Could this be the the biggest signing for years that we are taking little notice of at the moment.
