I think most people would prefer it if you were to justify your earlier, quite extraordinary accusations of racism, rather than you just putting it out there with no explanation.

You’ve made accusations then ‘cos you can’t back them up decide to now say nothing.
A retraction would of been better.

....and I thought us liberal types were considered the over sensitive ones who get outraged by everying on other people's behalves.

In a thread littered with the Tories and Labour being branded racist (without any real outrage, more as a point scoring exercise) everyone is suddenly after blood for a poster saying there was racism in this thread but not naming anyone and withdrawing from further debate.

Look up irony, you precious little flowers. :D

Sorry, but that just won't do imo.
Firstly, I don't agree with that analogy and secondly, I haven't seen anyone "going after blood".
Imo it's only fair to ask a poster to back up allegations of racism against fellow posters.

Here's the Kaepernick ad. Quite good, I think.

Meanwhile the Ford Motor Company, which owns the Detroit Lions, has put out a statement backing the 'kneelers' right to protest. I wonder if the rednecks will start burning their Mustangs.

But if nobody is named them who can be offended by it? If nobody has said anything racist then it's just a throwaway comment and incorrect at that.

Said before given the right scenario
Everyone on here would naturally show racist tendencies

I believe you would be lying to yourself
The British must be right up there in the racist table

Would take just another Falkland example and we would all be at it guaranteed imo

As soon as a designed news story comes on about a individual without knowing it many lump on a scenario label

Just because some in the past hit the streets to march against race only made them seem extreme. Of course this was not acceptable and isn’t now

We are only a few feet away from a racist each day I believe

Plus it not white on Black it works all ways

A little naive. Ever heard of inference and innuendo?

Nines is right. If allegations of racism are thrown around liberally (no pun intended) , it waters down the meaning of the term (and stymies debate)

UK employers hire staff at fastest pace in five months - REC
    2 Min Read
LONDON (Reuters) - British employers hired permanent staff at the fastest rate in five months in August, a recruiters’ body said on Friday, but it questioned how long this would continue in the face of uncertainty about Brexit.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) report also showed starting salaries for permanent staff picked up last month at the second-fastest pace in more than three years.
    Sponsored
Overall the monthly survey, produced with data firm IHS Markit, added to signs of a tightening labour market in Britain, with companies struggling to find the workers they need.
Net migration of European Union nationals into Britain has fallen markedly since British voters opted to leave the bloc in a June 2016 referendum.
But employment has continued to grow strongly and the unemployment rate has fallen to its lowest levels since the mid-1970s.
“How long our labour market can defy gravity if the shape of our future trading arrangements with the EU remain unclear is the big question,” REC chief executive Neil Carberry said.
“Companies are starting to implement contingency plans now — and those who aren’t will need to step up progress.”
Prime Minister Theresa May has yet to strike a deal with the EU on Britain’s departure from the bloc, raising the prospect of an economically damaging Brexit in less than seven months’ time.
Despite the fall in unemployment, official wage growth measures have not risen notably although they are largely in line with the forecasts of the Bank of England. It raised interest rates last month, saying it saw signs of inflation pressure from the labour market.
Official data last month showed net migration of European Union citizens into Britain fell to its lowest level since 2012 in the year to March, but this was more than outweighed by a record influx of non-EU citizens.

Investigation launched after Iranian state TV films private Labour meeting
Press TV broadcasts from inside a "no confidence" vote against the chair of Labour Friends of Israel, Joan Ryan.

    By Aubrey Allegretti, political reporter
Labour party bosses are scrambling to uncover how Iranian state television was able to broadcast from a vote of no confidence in an MP who chairs its pro-Israel group.
An investigation has been launched after footage emerged on Press TV's UK Twitter account of an emergency meeting held on the future of Joan Ryan, Enfield North MP and head of Labour Friends of Israel.
Pictures and videos posted from the Iranian state broadcaster showed crowds whooping and cheering as Ms Ryan narrowly lost the vote of no confidence by 94 votes to 92.
It reported on "minor disputes" and "small spats", describing Ms Ryan as an "anti-Corbyn rebel" who was "trying to defend herself to members".
Labour deputy leader Tom Watson said it was "impossible to fathom" how the broadcaster was able to release clips from inside the meeting.
"This disorder makes a farce of the proceedings and is not how the modern Labour Party should conduct its affairs," he said.
Chair of the local Enfield North party, Siddo Dwyer, called it "totally unacceptable" and vowed to complain to Press TV.
He suggested the identity of the Press TV employee was known, saying they had been given a "direct warning".
"It didn't occur to any of us at the time that they were from a state broadcaster," Mr Dwyer added.

Roshan Salih, who describes himself as a journalist for Press TV on Twitter, said "no announcement was made that filming was prohibited".
"Footage we got was openly filmed and no-one tried to stop filming - so we just did our jobs," he wrote. "Perhaps Labour Enfield need to answer some questions if filming wasn't allowed."
In a separate message, he wrote: "So it seems that the media has decided that Joan Ryan MP losing a no confidence vote last night is NOT the story.
"The real story, of course, is that Press TV filmed it. Perhaps the British media should have done their jobs and reported the story."
Ms Ryan, who has represented Enfield North since 1997, said she "fought the hard left to a virtual draw" in the vote of no confidence.
She added: "I did so in the face of a well organised, secret and long-planned divisive campaign led by party-within-a-party Momentum.
"This was about antisemitism in the Labour party and those of us who have stood by the Jewish community and said 'enough is enough'.
"I made no apologies last night for that and I make no apologies now."

Luton South MP Gavin Shuker also lost a no-confidence vote on Thursday called by local Labour members.
He said: "It's not part of any formal procedure, so it changes nothing about my role as Labour MP for Luton South.
"I'm really sorry a handful of people in the Labour Party want to overturn your vote of confidence in me last year.
"Their actions say far less about me - and you - than they do about the face of today's Labour Party.
"I've not changed, but the Labour Party has."

Image: Gavin Shuker also lost a vote of no confidence called by local members
Ms Ryan won 58% of the vote in Enfield North at the general election last year - with the highest number of votes achieved by a Labour candidate since the seat was created.
Mr Shuker won 62% of the vote last year, with the same record.
A London Labour Party spokesperson told Sky News: "Filming of local Labour Party meetings is not permitted, and Enfield North will be reminded of this fact.

They wouldn't need the boats. They have the proper aircraft to sort them out quickly if they tried it again. That was the problem the first time.

Sorry, I saw your response and couldn't resist that one.

For what it's worth, I don't think anyone on here is racist.

I do believe that we all have inherent prejudices (me included) based on a complex mix of race, wealth, gender, sexual orientation, religion and geographic identity but it's massively unlikely to result in a blanket hatred of any race (although can happen in particularly hate filled few).
