Well done Ehab. BRAVO ROBBO (On a musical note, shame they used the ersatz 'Highland Cathedral' music written by Germans that Madonna used for her wedding)
Although no longer a City player , I'm very proud that a former wearer of the black and amber is the new captain of Scotland . Well done Robbo .
Well done Andy. And on other matters Scotch, Greegs is going full Mr Angry at Rangers - booked for time wasting 5 minutes into the second half and possibly getting a red on investigation. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45389427
It is really sad that we have to talk about former players to feel any sort of enjoyment at the moment. Well done Robbo.
Good to see one of our ex players going places. Well done Andy I’m sure we will all be hoping you make a fist of it. As x says, would be good if the next England captain was another of our ex’s...... Maybe we could have all the home countries having ex Tigers as captains. Who have we had that can captain Wales? Edit: James Chester.......
Good for him, he's done well. I never thought he was the vocal or commanding presence on the pitch a captain needs to be though?
I don't know about that. I recall in his first couple of seasons @ City he wasn't afraid to direct other more senior players vocally re positioning to pick up players in dangerous positions . For such a young player I thought he showed leadership potential that way. Mind you, most of that was viewed on TV as I've only seen him play "in the flesh" a few times. If the Scottish brass recognize him as having leadership qualities he must have them. They usually have strong characters in that role. At Liverpool he's grown into that role under an excellent leader James Milner. Well done lad.
Well done Robbo. The other thing that makes him a seem like a stand out candidate is the fact he seems like a decent bloke. He is very humble and appreciates what he has. Cant imagine him ever making front page news. Not enough decent blokes like him in football unfortunately.
They know he is a very safe pair of hands, scandal-free, not covered in tats, focussed, humble, and someone who has risen to every football challenge he has faced and passed with flying colours. The Jocks have had some mad captains over the years who were not up to the serious side of the job. This one is. Saw Robbo in a Hull shop about 3 years back, paying at the till. Young lass serving, no idea who he was as he was dressed like a normal kid in his early 20s (cagoule etc). He was courteous, smiling, polite, looked her in the eye and spoke well. Most of the time I've seen City players out and about since 2008, they have seemed a bit stressed, bored, dressed like ****s, and acting like the big 'I am'. Robbo can do whatever he wants in football and beyond; just needs to keep his focus and screen out the crap. I bet Snodgrass and McGregor take the piss out of him summat rotten next time the squad assembles.
