West Ham fans are a never ending supply of delusional nonsense. Fans like this fool are hilarious. They still insist they’re a big club. Laughable!

Turn up on West Ham turf? doesn't he mean "turn up on Hackney Marshes?"

Watching MOTD surely Alonso should have had a second yellow before they scored? Might have made a difference to the outcome don't you think? Also Giroud's challenge in the box was presumably seen as "shoulder to shoulder" - which it wasn't - but I have no doubt exactly the same incident with different teams might have been given as a pen by a different ref. Goodness I hate the inconsistency of it all!

what bothers me is the inconsistency...I don't mind if it ain't a penalty by Giroud or a yellow for Alonso but next time out someone else will get a card or give away a penalty for the same offence.

It's called being human and having an opinion.

In my opinion consistency is everything. For example...if tomorrow a referee watches Shaw do what Giroud did and gives a penalty which costs united points how is that fair or desirable?
If a ref punishes a defender by giving a penalty for shirt pulling in the box when Spurs play Watford tomorrow which lets spurs gain 3 points but the ref does not give a penalty to United in their match which results in them drawing how is that fair or desirable?

I understand about people having opinions but rules should be standardly applied, which does not happen due to inconsistency in my opinion

I agree with the consistency angle but still think in the end it comes down to human perception.
How many times do you see (on every board) that should have been a yellow/red card, how many times do you see pundits (so called experts) arguing on MOTD or Sky that he went down easy so no penalty/foul or, definite foul/penalty.
The game was started as a competition between two sets of players with an adjudicator making decisions on foul play, now we have millions of people seeing many angles of slomo replays who still can't agree what is right.
Leave it to the officials, they may get some wrong but will probably get them wrong for all teams so reasonably fair.3

I do get your point but sometimes there are serious and glaring issues of lack of consistency which do change things.

For example...shirt pulling in the box.
It either is a penalty or it ain't yet some weeks it's punished in some games and in other weeks it's not.

I get that a ref might not think somethibg is a foul or has a bad view so misses it but somethings simply are against the rules but are dealt with so inconsistently.

Keepers wasting time is a great example... There is a rule about how long a keeper can keep the ball in his hands yet unless it is in the last 5 or 10 mins of a match keepers are rarely (if ever booked) even though the ref continually warn them.

I kind of agree with you but, if you were given the job what would you consider was enough shirt pulling to blow the whistle?
All players grab at each other in the box at free kicks and corners, some are just a quick snatch and others are blatant pull backs where do you draw the line.
When it comes to keepers time wasting then that should just be added on, do you remember the rule when a keeper couldn't take more than 6 steps with the ball in his hands, where did that go?

Time wasting is a bookable offence...2 warnings and then a yellow card.

I went to the Spurs v WestBrom match last December. Ben Foster (WBA keeper) was time wasting from the 4th minute onwards...genuinely not exaggerating... after scored an early goal. The ref continually warned him to speed up yet he took 30 seconds to get rid of the ball every time he had it. I ssid to my mate that the ref would wait until the 85th minute to book him and he finally did so in the 82nd minute, yet a west brom player who dropped the ball at a throw in as he was injured in the 80th or so minute was immediately nooked even though he was then treated and subbed!

If a players are pulling shirts in the box give a free kick or a penalty (depending on who is doing it) as it is a foul ... they do it some weekz but not others.

years ago it was agreed that if a player argued with a refs decision to give a foul then the free kick would be moved on 10 yards...it last a month and then got dropped because it was so inconsistently applied.

Stupid twat. West Ham don't have their own turf.......they borrow it from an insolvent landlord on 19 occasions a season, plus a cup game. However, next season, they will be closer to owning it, by borrowing it 23 times, plus a cup game.........if they can jemmy open the locked gates , after it meets the fate of all other Olympic Stadiums.

  14. Chavs got lucky yesterday. Alonso should have been sent off at 0-0 and Giroud should have conceded a penalty at 0-1.....
